Of course you can use a 'normal' bicycle pump, but the biggest difference is in the air reservoir, which you bring up to pressure, before inflating the tyre. After about 45 pump strokes your air chamber is fully up to pressure, and the air flows rapidly into your tyre when you push the lever down. This allows the tyre bead to be pushed into the sides of the rim, which creates an airtight connection. Thus, even a stiff, wide or narrow tyre placing is childsplay.

Yes you can! However, you should be aware that it may take a little longer to inflate your tyre as the air enters the tyre through the extra air chamber.
Can I replace individual parts of the Bontrager Flash Charger if required?
No, unfortunately there are no spare parts available for this pump.
How do I change the valve type of this Flash Charger?
This pumphead has only one opening and it fits both Schrader and Presta. There is no need to do anything as the pump head will automatically select the correct valve.

Does what it says
Ideal for seating tubeless tires, good construction and so easy to use. Any reviews that say it doesn't work will have been doing something wrong.

Premium pump for regular use and tubeless initial fill up
I wanted to buy similar pump from Topeak but the price was much higher. I found the cheaper pump from Bontrager and decided to give it a try. The pumping works like a dream as you can feel that the components are well designed and manufactured with great quality and fitting tolerance. Though the filling rate is not as fast as my conventional pumps, it allows me to accurately get the pressure that i need accurately. In case you overfill it, a bleed valve allows you to release the air slowly until the pressure is right. For initial filling of my Schwalbe Pro One, the red lever was easy to use and the air from the presurized chamber was immidiately released to settle the tire to the rim. Very easy to use and i managed to assemble 2 tubeless tires quickly to my Dt swiss RR21 wheels without taking too much time. Right after the tires settled to the rim, using the pump for regular refill is also addictive and fun. looks like christmas came early for me and i highly recommend others to buy it.

Not as good as expected
Might work better with Bontrager TLR wheels and tyres. Total failure with Zipp Corsa 30 wheels and Schwalbe 1 Pro tyres. Has to resort to CO2 canisters.

Very happy with bontrager flash charge fitting tubeless tires was a bit of a chore and rather frustrating experience before the purchase of my new pump, now it's complete within 20 mins leaving more time to ride, oh and the little booklet has some good tip,sweet
