Awesome frame with radical geometry
The beating heart of the BMC Twostroke 01 Four is its exceptionally beautiful carbon frame, and not just in terms of looks. The 67 degree headtube angle is exceptional for a hardtail and the steep 75 degree seat angle makes technical courses even more fun to ride, both when going up and down. That is, if you think 'more fun' is equal to 'more speed'. Add the short stem and nice wide handlebars, and you retain full control on tricky descents and through twisty sections. The RockShox Recon front fork ensures control and efficiency throughout every ride.
Comfort through flex
Besides being stiff and efficient for high-speed climbing, the Twostroke 01 Four is also comfortable. The low frame allows for quite a lot of flex from the D-shape seat post tube and the carbon seat post, making the Twostroke very comfortable for a hardtail MTB. The frame's seat stay is shaped to provide a lot of vertical flex there too, without losing pedalling efficiency. A clever piece of engineering from BMC.
Quality equipment
BMC has selected quality SRAM parts for the Twostroke 01 Four. With a very large range provided by the 11-50 cassette, it is possible to climb a steep hill and achieve a high top speed with a single front chainring. To control all the speed, the bike comes with SRAM T brakes with good modulation.
Low rolling resistance
The Twostroke 01 Four is fitted with a great wheelset, which perhaps is not the lightest wheelset but a very strong one indeed. Thanks to the 25 mm inner width, the Vittoria Barzo tyres bulge nicely on the rims. This then increases grip and gives you the option of riding with slightly lower tyre pressure for less rolling resistance.
