The core of the shorts, the padding, has been improved as well. It's now lighter and made of superAir microShock 3D foam, which works with the kraterCooler system to improve breathability. The chamois is attached to the patented horizontal stabiliser at the back. The result: Assos' well-known level of comfort, but even better!
Assos' Equipe R S9 bib short features various new textiles and technologies that work together to provide stability and keep the seat pad securely in place. The primary textile panel, which covers the lower back as well as the legs and which comes together at the back, is the Butterfly panel with fewer seams for more uniform compression, less weight and higher comfort.
RollBar and ergoBox technologies for optimal stabilisation
The rollBar bib straps have a patented principle to keep the seat pad perfectly in place as your weight shifts from left to right when cornering; it works similarly to a stabiliser rod in racing cars. ErgoBox is a square pattern construction that frames and encloses the chamois at the back for added stability.
Optimal fit
The ultralight leg grippers are made of lycra and elastane and wrap around the thighs for soft, ultralight compression without the use of silicone. ZeroWaist, a raw-cut band reinforced with tape, ensures a smooth transition between the fabric and your body, resulting in more comfort and less pressure.
- XLG (XXL) is one size larger than XL, including longer sleeves and pant legs.
- TIR (XXXL) is one size larger than XLG. (Wider hip and upper leg circumference)

Value for money
Good quality trousers, which is certainly what you should expect for this money. Note; the chamois is quite thinner than the Assos Mille GT Summer GTS version, but still very good quality.
