Description
Description
This Sram X01 Eagle AXS MTB Rear Derailleur is made for rough trail and enduro work. This derailleur has been given a reinforced aluminum cage which is also 10mm shorter than with a mechanical Eagle derailleur, so you have less chance of the derailleur hitting a rock. And should it ever happen that your derailleur hits something or you fall on the drive side, the shifting motor in the derailleur will disengage. This allows the derailleur to move inward, minimizing the risk of damage. And when you get back on the bike, the derailleur cage will snap back into place, so you can ride on!
Smooth shifting, cassettes up to 52 teeth!
The shifting of this derailleur is very smooth, even in the most challenging conditions. This derailleur can also handle a 10/52 cassette. This is not only useful when mountain biking, but also when fully loaded up a steep slope during a bikepacking trip!
Compatible with race shifters
The AXS line is designed to be interchangeable, so you can also control this derailleur with the Sram Red AXS or Sram Force AXS shifters. You still need a Sram X-Dome 12-speed cassette and Eagle 12-speed chain for this combination.
Water resistance
This derailleur has a high-quality protection against dust and water up to IP69K. Handy in wet, muddy conditions in the forests!
• Instruction manual
Note:
This rear derailleur does not include a battery. The battery needs to be purchased separately.
A problem that crops up often is a skew derailleur hanger. It can happen if the derailleur knocked into something, for example in the case of a fall on the bike. Luckily it can be fixed! You can read more here.
Clean the jockey wheels well too!
Just like the chain, the jockey wheels on a derailleur get super dirty. As a result the shifting is not as good and it does the lifespan of your derailleur no good. For that reason, it's a good idea to clean the jockey wheels at the same time when you clean and lube your chain. Do this by running a cloth along the jockey wheel while gently turning the chain. Of course it gets to a point where the jockey wheels are worn out. In this blog post you can find out more about when jockey wheels should be replaced and what you'll need.
