An excellent GPS meter, perfectly legible thanks to a large, bright and colourful display.

Wouldn't miss the Karoo 2 on the MTB and Race bike

- John, 2 October, 2023

Very pleasing: there is an audible signal at an oncoming turn as required. Further highly rated 1. Turn by Turn: Graphic display of the upcoming turn and textual indication of the distance to it, with the name of the street or road to be turned in displayed separately and clearly. 2. Climbing: extensive graphic and textual information on the climb. Furthermore, the clear picture and the easy-to-use touch screen, especially the convenient and safe "1 finger 2 taps" to enlarge the map and the "2 fingers simultaneously 1 tap" to reduce the map. Cellular SIM card: Inserted the smart phone's SIM card into the Karoo 2 and did two test drives with it. I was surprised at the low data consumption: 1 to 3 MB per hour, depending on the functions used (and combined or not): live tracking, synchronisation, route creation. Also surprised by the speed (whether by Wi-Fi or cellular SIM card) of synchronisation between the Karoo 2 and the user website (dashboard) of rides ridden and routes created manually.

Pros & Cons

Bright and colourful picture
Live tracking via cellular SIM card
Low data consumption sim card. 1 to 3 MB per hour
Map magnification by tapping 2x on the screen
Operation by touch screen or by physical buttons
Jumpy re-routing after this navigation delay
Sometimes navigation delay
Start-up time 46 seconds

Highly recommended especially for people who want something different from Garmin or Wahoo.

Since I only do trips of 4-5 hours max all the time, battery life is not really important. I only charge this device once a week. The many setting options are perfect for my size. Only the phone notifications do not work at all and if they had to work on the NL translation, this would be a first-class winner.

Pros & Cons

Beautifully clear screen
Integration of Suunto heatmaps
Many settings possible
For me personally, the screen could be even larger
Phone notifications could be much better
Too expensive (colour) covers

Solid device, super navigation, clear maps. Good alternative to the much more expensive Garmi

I had to get used to the settings as a Garmin user, but once I got used to it, it was actually very easy.

Pros & Cons

Large screen, touchscreen, always easy to read
Many route settings possible
Screen very variable self-setting
Strong proprietary mount
Super navigation, the plus point of the HH
No app, only via web.
No standard mount, adapter for Garmin in box
Tad quirky setup
