Description

Description

This XLC Chain Guide ensures that your 1x drivetrain does not cause any damage to the frame. This chain guide ensures that your chain is kept neatly in place, on the roughest terrain!

Very light and durable
This XLC chain guide is made from the lightweight and durable 6061-T6 aluminium with a matt finish. This means the guide won't add unnecessary weight to your bike, and it has good strength so you'll keep good guidance on bumpy terrain.

Suitable for most 1x drivetrains
This XLC chain guide is suitable for most 1x9, 1x10 and 1x11 drivetrains. The guide is available in different sizes, namely suitable for a tube diameter of 31.8 mm and for a tube diameter of 34.9 mm.

My first ride is over and the chainguide did its job, for me a very good upgrade for my mountain bike, am very happy with my purchase.

Ensures your chain stays on your chainring even on very rough terrain.

- J. 29 March 2022

Does what it is supposed to do and is not noticeable. On a very rough trip of 130km on rough terrain, the chain did not fall off once. So I like it!

Pros & Cons

Chain stays securely on the chainring
Light
Strong
No spacers for other tube diameters included

Not suitable for smaller front sprockets (32T)

- Ulrich 19 July 2021

Sturdy chain guide that is easy to adjust. Important downside: the chain guide is fixed low on the tube. With a 32-tooth front bar, the attachment comes up against the rear tube, so the chain guide cannot be attached low enough. Since, in my opinion, most modern MTBs have 32-tooth front sprockets, this construction is a nuisance and not usable for many. A chain guide that is usable is the XLC Chain Guide CR-A19, which I hope Mantel will include in its range. It also has a lot of space on the side of the chain, as this chain guide is also compatible with 9x. In any case, the CR-A18 is going back to Mantel.

Pros & Cons

Solid quality
Well adjustable
Does not fit 32T front blade
Very roomy for 12x
