Pros & Cons

  • All-round MTB shoes thanks to the high level of comfort and good power transfer.
  • A simple turn of the BOA L6 dial is all it takes to fine-tune the fit.
  • Perforated synthetic leather composite upper for a comfortable fit and breathability.
  • The rubber XC outsole provides good grip when you're walking.
  • The fibreglass-reinforced nylon sole is lightweight and optimises power transfer.
  • The BOA dial is located in the middle of the forefoot, which means that the pressure distribution across the entire forefoot is not optimal.

Description

Description

The Shimano XC300 MTB shoes are suitable for every type of mountain biker. These MTB shoes have an easily adjustable fit and feature high-quality pedalling technologies. They bring together a high level of comfort and good power transfer, which makes them real all-rounders.

Technology

Easily adjustable fit
The Shimano XC300 MTB shoes have a BOA L6 dial, which makes them unique compared to many other MTB shoes. This BOA dial makes these shoes very easy to put on and take off. A simple turn of this dial is enough to adjust the fit a little tighter. Also, the asymmetrical middle flap wraps itself around the foot, so that the XC300 fits on every foot. However, the BOA L6 dial is placed on the middle of the forefoot. This means that the pressure distribution across the entire forefoot is not optimal, even with the BOA dial tightened. The synthetic leather composite upper ensures a comfortable fit around the entire foot. Breathability is very good in this construction.

Lightweight outsole and additional grip
The rubber XC outsole in these Shimano XC300 MTB shoes provides excellent grip both on the pedals and when you're walking. The seamless midsole offers additional stability under the foot. In addition, the sole is lightweight and made of nylon reinforced with glass fibre, which makes these shoes perform very well.

User tips

Detailed explanation of sizing in mm
In order to help you, as best we can, to choose the right size shoe we have measured all the shoes ourselves. All that's left for you to do is measure your own foot length, and we'll tell you which shoe size per brand suits you best. Does your foot length in mm not appear on the relevant product's page? Then that particular shoe is not available in a size that suits your foot length.

You can easily measure your foot length using an A4 sheet of paper, placed on the floor against a wall. Stand with one foot on the piece of paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line above your big toe (or above the index toe if that is longer). Now mark your other foot on the paper in the same way. Measure both - the measurement of your longest foot is your foot length in mm's! Please note: some manufacturers have their own measuring system, and as a result what appears on the shoebox can deviate from what we have measured.

What shoe size you need can differ per brand. This is because certain brands wear larger or smaller. To help you get the perfect fit, we've also classified the shoes as narrow, average, or wide fit. Read all about it in our blog!

Comfort

- Wojciech 15 May 2024

My first biking shoes. Comfortable for mixed terrain biking. Quite light. Only wish they came also in mid-sizes. My feet are wide, so I ordered 2 sizes bigger (44 instead of 42). It was a good choice as I'm afraid 43 would have been too tight. Cannot tell yet how durable they will be
