Description
Description
With this Shimano GRX RX812 1x11 speed you can ride with a single front chainring and still smoothly crest those hills. This derailleur gives you the possibility to mount an 11/40 or 11/42 cassette. In addition, this derailleur is stable, quiet and shifts quickly and smoothly.
Stable and Smooth thanks to Clutch
This derailleur has a built-in clutch. Because of this clutch, the derailleur will not rattle if you cycle on rough terrain and the chain remains well tensioned. This greatly benefits shifting behaviour and the derailleur also makes little noise while cycling.
Watch out!
This derailleur can only be used with a single front chainring, so you can't use this derailleur with two front chainrings.
A problem that crops up often is a skew derailleur hanger. It can happen if the derailleur knocked into something, for example in the case of a fall on the bike. Luckily it can be fixed! You can read more here.
Clean the jockey wheels well too!
Just like the chain, the jockey wheels on a derailleur get super dirty. As a result the shifting is not as good and it does the lifespan of your derailleur no good. For that reason, it's a good idea to clean the jockey wheels at the same time when you clean and lube your chain. Do this by running a cloth along the jockey wheel while gently turning the chain. Of course it gets to a point where the jockey wheels are worn out. In this blog post you can find out more about when jockey wheels should be replaced and what you'll need.

Finally shimano get on board with a 1x gravel groupset. Lovely mech that worked faultlessly with STI shifters from the start without any bodges or work arounds.
