Pros
The internal rim width of 18 mm is 4 mm narrower than that of the CR 1600. This makes for a lighter wheelset and a better fit with 23 and 25 mm tyres. |
23 refers to the rim height; 32 is also available. A wheel with a 23 mm rim height is lighter and more comfortable; a wheel with a 32 mm rim height is stiffer and offers better power transfer. |
The DT Swiss 350 hubs with ratchet system engage quickly, ensuring fast acceleration after taking a turn. |
The spokes have extra thick ends to reduce the chance of spoke breakage and to allow for a maximum rider weight of 130 kg. |
The PR 1600 wheels come in a higher segment in the DT Swiss range than the P1800; the former have a better bearing quality, and are lighter and stiffer. |
Wide 28-inch mountain bike inspired rims that are suitable for gravel riding on dirt tracks. |
The bearings can be maintained by applying some bearing grease to the hubs annually, resulting in a long service life. |
Tight spoke tension with straightpull spokes to cope with holes in the road without problems. |
The internal rim width of 21.6 mm allows for tyres between 32 and 42 mm for optimum comfort. |
Internal rim width of 24mm, 2mm wider than the C1800. This provides greater comfort and stability, ideal for tyres from 30mm upwards. |
25 is the rim height. A 25 mm rim offers greater comfort thanks to the longer spokes than a higher rim and is lighter. |
With the combination of wide 28 mm rims and strong, wide spokes, these wheels can handle a maximum total weight of 130 kg. |
Thanks to the Pro Lock nipple system, your wheels will retain better spoke tension for longer. |
The DT Swiss 370 hubs with ratchet body are easy to maintain and the rear wheel has fast engagement torque. |
The RS370 wheels are very strong. |
Due to the construction of the set and the possibility to mount wide tyres, this wheel set is very comfortable. |
It is possible to convert this wheelset into tubeless tyres. |
Cons
Although the weight is relatively low, competition riders may still find the set too heavy. For an even lower weight please refer to the DT Swiss wheelsets in the PRC series. |
Not suitable for Shimano Microspline MTB cassettes. |
Weighing +/- 1830 grams, the G 1800 Spline 25 Disc is not very light, but it is lighter than its predecessor. |
If 28mm wide tyres don't fit in your bike, you shouldn't use this wheelset. |
The wheelset is not the lightest set in its category. |
