You don't buy a new Polar because you want a new one but because your trusty old one is due for retirement.
Fine sports watch. Does what it needs to do. I had a FR970 which I found too much smartwatch and far too complex with all the menus. That gave me choice stress. Not with this one. Menus have been the same for years and that's fine by me. Heart rate measurement via wrist is perhaps not always as reliable as with the pacer pro or fr970. GPS is good and reliable. GPS lock is reasonably smooth ( You just can't run before you have a lock). Battery lasts me at least a week with 4-6 hours of sport Little choice of watch faces but that's fine by me. Polar flow is easy to use Polar flow does have the occasional time bug which means the time of my run in strava is incorrect. Clear and fast display. Nice buttons and intuitive. Gesture problems seem solved as I have virtually no issues with it. With the FR970, I might have had more frustration with the gesture function for the display.
