Strong performance, Ice technology
These brake discs are cut from one sheet of metal, which makes them harder than other Shimano discs from lower price segments. The harder construction also means better performance and greater durability. They can be used with Resin, Semi-Metallic or Metallic brake pads.
The discs have several cut-outs which ensure that dirt and mud is easily removed. They are designed using Shimano's Ice Technology, which is geared towards good heat dissipation under constant braking. So, with Ice Technology, you'll have better braking performance on long descents.

How do I mount a disc brake rotor?
For disc brake rotors, you have 2 different ways of mounting depending on the lock ring. One has an internal fit that you can tighten with a Cassette Removal Tool without a pin. If the inside of the key is open, it can reach far enough over the axle of the wheel. The other version is an external fit that you can tighten with a bottom bracket tool.
