Great product with acceptable pricing.

Excellent brake discs fitted to an MTB. I.c.w. resin pads excellent braking performance. The discs are also suitable for metal brake pads, which gives freedom of choice in the future. Easy mounting with Mantel's instructions.

Excellent brake discs at a good price

- Eduard, 19 May, 2021

Mounted on a Mason Bokeh gravel bike with Shimano GRX (both front and rear 160mm). By now cycled 4500km with it, including long descents in the Alps with full bikepacking packs in the middle of summer and winter days in the rain and cold: these discs always work flawlessly. No fancy cooling fins (not needed) or the lowest weight, just reliable, sturdy and quiet. Absolutely highly recommended. Only drawback I find is the appearance: why does a brake disc have to look like a ninja pitcher/kitchen knife?

Robust brake disc, both on and off road.

- Laurens, 26 January, 2021

Have these standard on my bike. Bought the same set of brake discs for 2nd set of wheels. Had to search a bit for availability and best price, ended up at Mantel with that. First set has seen 7000km and is still "going strong". Comes in nice packaging. Manual a bit sparse, but movies enough on Youtube. Only had this 105 set, so can't compare with higher set like Ultegra (which does look nicer). But there is really nothing to complain about. Use both for graveling, Flemish classic rides.... Only high mountains I haven't done it yet, but I don't expect any problems with 2x 160mm.

Pros & Cons

Robust
Less good looks than Ultegra

Stand still quickly and is also quiet

- Pieter, 28 October, 2020

Bought this brake disc to replace a "basic" disc from Avid. My new wheels had a centerlock mounting and didn't feel like working with adapters. The shimano discs are a lot cheaper and lighter than the SRAM discs (with centerlock). My calipers are from SRAM/Avid. These have slightly different dimensions, so the spacers that were already on my fork didn't fit properly. So I had to work with other bushings (from Shimano) and some extra rings to make sure the caliper grips in the right place. At the rear there were no bushings, and everything was in the right place. Brake performance is good. They are a lot quieter than my previous discs (but that could also be due to the new pads). In any case, the disc is well flat, so I can also set the brakes nice and tight without anything sticking.

Pros & Cons

brakes fine
good price
reasonably quiet
does not fit AVID/SRAM calipers perfectly
