Mountain Bike Tyres Selection Guide

What type of tyre are you looking for?

Folding and wire bead tyres are flexible tyres, with a low rolling resistance and a relatively low weight. By using an inner tube, the tyres have slightly more weight and a higher rolling resistance. The use of an inner tube adds weight and causes friction with the outer tube, which increases rolling resistance. Tubeless tyres are tyres without an inner tube. The absence of an inner tube means that you can enjoy the lowest rolling resistance and minimum weight. The fitting of tubeless tyres does, however, require more effort. (Please note: for a tubeless setup, your rims also need to be tubeless).
