Cotton carcass and extra wide
The tread of this tyre is placed on a cotton carcass. This carcass makes the tyre very supple, keeping rolling resistance low and making your bike easily to steer. The extra width of 30 mm or 36 mm ensures that the tyre provides a lot of damping during cycling and thus increases comfort. If you have a road bike, you have to check whether the tyre fits on your bike because of this increased width.
Suitable for asphalt and gravel, ideal for bikepacking!
This Challenge Strada Bianca Pro Tyre has a smooth tread with a surprising amount of grip on gravel. This is due to the tyre's supple carcass, which conforms to the terrain. Plus, the tread features some extra texture to further improve grip. However, this texture doesn't cause any extra rolling resistance, and this tyre has the feel of a regular road bike tyre. The Challenge Strada Bianca Pro is ideal for long bike tours and bikepacking!
Tread and puncture protection
The tread of this tyre has been given extra puncture protection. For this purpose Challenge has developed the PPS-2 technology. Thanks to this technology, pebbles and other sharp objects are less likely to penetrate your tyre, resulting in a flat. The surface has also been given a tread with as much grip as possible, while maintaining low rolling resistance.
Different widths mean different tyre pressures
These Challenge Strada Bianca Pro bike tyres are available in different widths. The nice thing about wider tyres is that they require less air to achieve the same rolling resistance as a narrower tyre with more air. In addition, you also get extra comfort, so it's a real win-win situation. A wider tyre will therefore also have a lower maximum tyre pressure than a narrower one. But before buying wider bike tyres, make sure that they fit your frame!

Comfortable but not puncture-proof
Drive normally on 28mm, which already complements comfortably, but these tyres surpass everything in terms of comfort. You literally sit on pillows. Fitting was very easy (even with my office hands). The rolling resistance I give a 6 but that's not what you buy these tyres for. Whether they also offer extra grip in the winter months I wouldn't know, because on the first long ride I immediately had a puncture. Right off and into the bin.

Perfect choice right ?
I was looking for a narrower tyre choice for the gravel pafes but also on the road

Beautiful and very smooth-running tyres
All other reviews regarding fitting notwithstanding: use talcum powder and it won't be too bad! I have little experience with fitting tyres myself, but with a bit of patience and (lots of) talcum powder I managed it, only with my bare hands and without the use of tyre levers. Of course, I was a bit surprised when they were delivered, completely flat, not pre-shaped and quite stiff. So I let them warm up in the sun, including the inner tubes. First put the outer tyres around the wheel on one side, fill them with some talcum powder, put the inner tubes in, pump them up a bit, add some more talcum powder, and then pop the outer tyre into the rim in a circular motion. All went pretty quickly. I have the 30 mm version, by the way.

For the weather in Belgium, better choose a different tyre
At first it did meet expectations, but after driving in the wet the traction was very disappointing.

Perfect
Unsurprisingly, it wasn't easy to fit, but the result was perfect after 200km - see how it goes over time!
