Assos Equipe RSR S9 Trägerhose

The Assos Equipe RSR S9 is the result of Assos' effort to create the best bib short ever. Did they succeed? We absolutely think so! Based on pro feedback, Assos looked at cyclists constantly shifting their sitting position in the saddle. This, of course, affects how bib shorts should fit and where they’re supposed to provide comfort and support. Because of this, Assos then developed the Ergobox and Rollbar technologies.

The Ergobox results in a reinforced rear section to give your lower back more stability. The Rollbar technology is used to place the bib straps further down on the backside of the short with the aim of keeping the padding better in place. Assos also developed the new .701 fabric type for this RSR S9 bib short. This innovative material consists of very fine threads with incredible elasticity, applied in such a way that there’s practically no friction anymore. As a result of all this, the bib short feels like a second skin around the legs, which makes it exceptionally comfortable to wear.

The core of the short, the padding, has been improved as well. It is now more lightweight and consists of superAir microShock foam 3D padding. This has been combined with the kraterCooler system to increase breathability. It is now connected to the patented horizontal stabiliser at the rear. The result? Assos' typical high level of comfort but even better! With the Equipe RSR S9, Assos has indeed created its best bib short yet!

A-Lock Engineering
S9 racingFit system with new textiles and technologies that work together to stabilise the cycling shorts and keep the chamois in place.

Butterfly Pattern
This is the primary textile panel that completely covers the lower back and legs and comes together at the back. A lower number of seams results in more uniform compression, less weight and increased comfort.

Type.701kompressor
A patented textile specifically designed for compression and comfort. It contains 160g/m2, UPF 50+, yarn with odorControl, maximum abrasion resistance, friction reduction and heat management.

ergoBox
This is a square pattern construction that frames the chamois at the back and encloses it to create extra stability.

Carbon Xbib
One-piece elastic material that folds over to form a supportive A-frame that provides limited vertical stretch at the rear. Above the X-joint a more flexible material, containing anti-microbial properties, is used to absorb moisture and remain flat at the front.

zeroWaist
A raw-cut and tape-reinforced edge to make the transition between body and fabric as smooth as possible. The result is more comfort with less pressure.

Ultralight Leg Grippers
The new lycra/elastane structure is woven into the straps and wraps around the thighs. The result is soft, ultra-light compression. No silicone treatment is required.

30% seam reduction
The product features flat and fewer seams. Higher comfort and lower overall weight are the positive results.

S9 Basalt
This refers to an antibacterial microfibre top layer in 3D basalt colour. It pays homage to the lava rock that represents strength, stability and courage.

superAir microShock foam
This is a lightweight open-cell foam with a shock absorbing composition. The foam returns to its original position and fills the gap every time the position in the saddle changes due to weight shift.

Assos Waffle/3D-Waffle
This is a patented three-layer perforated foam that increases breathability and eliminates excess weight.

Surface Reduction Design
The footprint of the chamois has been reduced compared to the previous Equipe Evo pattern. This is based on losing extra weight.

Assos goldenGate
This is a patented technology that interrupts stitching along both side panels of the chamois. This allows for a more three-dimensional freedom of movement in this specific and sensitive area.

Horizontal Stabilizer
A patented central stitch, which attaches the back of the chamois to the outer fabric. This ensures that it does not slip when you walk on the pedals.

Crater Ventilation/Crater Cooler
This is a system of small holes at the front of the chamois. These improve airflow, keeping sensitive areas cooler.

XLG and TIR sizes
Compared to many other brands, Assos has two notable sizes in its range. These are the XLG and TIR sizes. XLG is actually an XL size, but with slightly longer legs than a normal XL size. TIR is the XLG size, but with a slightly wider waist and leg circumference.
