Description
The Sram X01 Upgrade Kit drive train is an relatively new phenomenon in mountain biking. We first saw single-chainring groupsets about 2 years ago at World Cup races. The X01 is suitable for a single front chainring. The advantage to this: a lighter groupset and a lower chance of your chain dropping.
The Sram X01 11-speed rear derailleur uses a horizontal parallel-cage design called X-Horizon which keeps the chain gap identical across all 11 gears. The lack of vertical motion makes for lightning fast gear changes which require less force as well. The roller bearing clutch technology reduces the bounce and slap of the chain, while the cage-lock technology ensures easy wheel changes.
The X01 Grip Shift Twister 11-speed has the so-called Speed-Metal index and bearings which stem from the legendary XX1 Twister.
The Sram X01 groupset takes the best properties from the XX1 line-up and combines the with the current X0 line.
