It was nicely packaged to give, but I don't understand why something so small that can be sent with an envelope is then sent in a box with the parcel service.

The design of the package, the design of the gift card itself are superb! Very lovely gift. However, sending a gift card in a non-letter box package is ridiculous, i think! I got a small gift card in a box 10x times it's size. Makes the delivery harder than it should be, as I had to chase PostNL.
