Fantastic tyres, great grip and fast!!!!
Got so much confidence when racing with these, stick to the road in all conditions and feel fast!!!

Excellent Tyre THIS is the one to have
I got these tyre and waw they are defiantly quicker, better rolling resistance and the grip is out of this world. Just remember they will be tight (TOP TIP) get some Park Tool TL-4.2 Tyre Lever Carded Tool and they just slip on a treat. I bought them for my new campagnolo scirocco and they have transformed my giant bike to an other level. The price of mantel is the best on the internet £69 for 2 tyres and postage.in the uk they are £40-£60 each plus postage. well done mantel i will be buying a lot more off you.

great tyre and great service from Mantel
For me, these tyres are a revelation, so much so I think this is my first ever online review! The rolling resistance is very low compared with anything I've ever had. Too early to say about puncture resistance but for such 'slick' looking tyres after a month of commuting and some longer rides there is no real damage

Great tyre fast, good grip and brilliant puncture resistance

Bought my two GP 5000’s from Mantel, great service, quick delivery. Tyres easily fitted and a great update on the 4000’s.

Rapid tyres, done about 1000k on them now with no regrets...or punctures. Great service from Mantel and smashing improved tyre over the GP4000!

Really good tyres yhat look good too
Always used the gp4000s2 before and had very little issues with them. Decided to buy some new tyres, the gp5000 has just come out and the price at Mantel was not to different from the 4000 tyre. They look nice on the bike grip well and are easy to fit.

Great tyre, massive improvement
I got these tyres to replace vittoria zaffiro pro's and they are a marked improvement. I cant describe the rolling resistance or anything scientific, I just know from Strava that I have increased my speed with the same effort. I would highly recommend these (I have the tube version, not tubeless).

Not much to say really, another quality tyre from Continental.

Great tyres
Not had the chance to do a lot of riding on them but so far they live up to the hype!

Poor quality won’t buy again
I have had the GP 4000’s for years and have sworn by them. The 5000’s have a very very thin sidewall and ruptured on my first ride. The ride itself was good and the grip too was good but the paper thin walls mean they are useless. I have read that this is a common problem.

Great tyres confidence inspiring
From the first turn of the wheel these feel like a real quality item and 650 miles on they are performing even better than I expected -they really do inside confidence in handling and riding through crap on the roads a great purchase !

smooth ride, good rolling resistance
Bought these in folding non tubeless version for a set of Mavic Cosmic carbon 40's, easy to fit, very good grip, great rolling resistance and puncture resistant so far.
Pros & Cons

very smooth ride, with good grip
Very difficult to compare the difference between GP 4000 and 5000, but the GP 5000's do give a very smooth ride and fast corners feel safe with a good grip.

Great tyres
Knocked 2mins off my usually 20km loop couldn't believe how good and big a different race tyres make as I never had them before Savage upgrade.

Great tyre - but hard to fit
Overall, the Continental GP5000’s are well made and live up to all the claims Continental has made. My only criticism is the fact the tyre Brad is extremely tight to the rim. I had to take it to a local bike shop to get it sorted.

Great tyres
Bought these as replacement for gp 4000s2s that had worn and started to pick up punctures. Very happy with these new gp5000s, haven't noticed them being quicker but I'm my opinion they are certainly feel more grippy, time will tell on the puncture front but first 150mile passed with no incidents.

Great tyre but the direction arrow should be more prominent. Several other cyclists I spoke to didn’t know that the tyre had a specified direction of rotation.

These tyres were a great price and look epic. After a couple of ride they were worn in and now are really grippy give great control. I'd definitely recommend these tyres.

Great tyres, very comfortable, responsive and so far, no punctures (28mm)
My wife’s been riding 25mm 4000s and they’ve been really great so, when my tyres needed replacing I was keen to try out the 5000s following the years of development and favourable reviews and they’ve lived up to my expectations - I went for 28s for my endurance bike and I have to say they’re awesome and I’d thoroughly recommend, especially now they’re becoming more affordable, great purchase!

Dependable and performant
Speedy delivery from Mantel. Tyres have so far proven well - first ride out was the Birmingham/Midlands Velo .. 100miles with no hiccups is what you want/expect from any tyre ?! Good speed , certainly at least on par with the 4000's. Easy fit to wheels too.

A big improvement on the 4000

Wow just as good as 4000
Brought these after coming of tubeless as wanted a change. Before always used Conti gp4000 11 4 seasons and loved them . The 5000 are just as good to early to tell if they are better they feel fab and stick to the road

Roll well, great puncture resistance, good in wet.
Had the 4000gp which were fantastic, these are even better. 500 miles and no problems, good in wet and dry. Nice tread pattern and logo on the side. Recommended.
Pros & Cons

cycle over all conditions including newly graveled road, no signs of cuts or wear
I've ridden a few hundred miles on these tyres, with other tyres I've used before I usually notice small slits after each ride with these new tyres so far I've noticed none, I've also had to do a few emergency stops causing and noticed no patches due to skidding. I've had no punctures yet

Great tyre performs well
I’ve used continental tyres for a few years now and am very happy with the way they perform, never get punctures and they always grip well in winter , I ride over 4000 miles a year and replace my tyres annually, great tyres thanks

Excellent tyre
Very happy with these tyres. They roll really well and seem more than cap8of handling these poor British roads. Purchased 28inch and the price was quite competitive.

Great upgrade from the already superb GP4000’s
I have used the superb Continental GP4000’s for years, and they have never let me down. So when I saw the GP5000’s released, I knew where I was going next! They have not disappointed...500 miles with no punctures, they are fast, grippy and instal confidence even when I got caught out in a good British downpour! They are a tad expensive...but so far worth every penny.

Excellent grip and nice looking tyre
I have always used gp4000s11 and decided to purchase these tyres in 25mm and I'm not disappointed they have excellent grip and I have found myself cornering quicker and they roll great even at 90 psi and they are very comfortable. They are a lovely looking tyres and look muck blacker than the 4000 s11

Was s big fan of the gp 4000 II and equally impressed with these: sticky and stealthy looking.

Awesome
Put these on in place of specialised turbo cotton tyres , more punctures than I care to mention , and so far these are as responsive and look and fell very good Defo’ recommend them

Initial impression very favourable
I’ve been a long term very contented user of 4000sii, latterly in the 28mm size. For background I’m an experienced rider, I ride long distance but I’m not a racer. My review is on the non-tubeless 5000 tyres in 32mm size. My riding impressions are based on a comparison between the 28mm 4000sii and 32mm 5000 tyres. Interestingly they both measure just over 31mm on the same relatively wide H Plus Son - The Hydra rim. The newer tyres may yet stretch in use but at present it seems Continental appear to have re-sized their tyres. I don’t have digital scales but on rudimentary scales the 5000’s measured slightly under manufactuer claimed weight. The tyres went on the rims relatively easily, I was able to fit them without the use of tyre levers. I cannot say I’ve noticed the claimed lower rolling resistance as both tyres feel very fast to me but I have no reason to doubt the scientific testing data that I’ve read. I can however report the improved comfort is definitely noticeable and very welcome, (65psi Front, 70psi Rear, 80kg rider). This removes my only real criticism of the older tyres, whilst comfort was good there were definitely more comfortable options available. Traction and cornering grip on the 5000’s is excellent; wet or dry. I’ve only done about 500k on the new tyres, they remain unmarked which is very impressive given they’ve been used through the latter part of a British winter. It’s clearly too soon to rate for wear/puncture resistance but no issues so far.

What you'd expect from 4000 Successor
Great tyre, all the improvements you'd expect over the 4000sII. I bought a 5000 because I heard they run a bit truer to size (smaller) than the old ones and I had some very minor clearance issues on my old tyre. These do run smaller and the new one fixed my problems.
