Light and comfortable

- Krysalan, 8 May, 2018

A great full featured Road helmet. Nicely light as Bell have integrated the MIPS system properly rather than adding to an existing helmet. Plenty of adjustment and comes with a soft helmet bag and a spare set of inner pads.

Pros & Cons

Lightweight for a MIPS helmet
Lots of adjustment
Spare liner pads

Top class lid!!

Very light and the fit was just right. Adjustments all easy to use and good peace of mind with the extra Mips protection.

Not any old bike helmet!

- Jon, 29 January, 2017

This is my fourth Bell helmet. My previous being the Gage which I thought would be difficult to surpass. Having spent a number of months hovering over the trigger on the Zephyr which in the main was down to a), the most expensive helmet I'd ever considered buying and b), couldn't make my mind up which colour combo as I couldn't afford to be a disappointed old hector if I was gonna be shelling out this much money. So... couldn't believe my luck on the price Mantel were offering the helmet. Pretty much £50 less than the few UK outlets that had the item in stock. So took the plunge and now have my grubby paws on an absolutely outstanding piece of kit. I'd recommend a YouTube review by GCN which highlight the fact, that like me, I just assumed all bike helmets were just a bit of over priced polystyrene. This is not the case with this helmet and certainly convinvinced me that the reasearch and design justified the price. The Mantel price and subsequent ultra fast turnaround was outstanding. Have done maybe a dozen rides now and I have absolutely have no doubt or hesitation that this helmet will be my go to item for the next couple of years. The finish quality of the product exceeds all helmets I have previously owned. Bell or otherwise. Definitely recommended.

Great Helmet, Good Looking, Nice Design Features.

I bought this Helmet to use in poor visibilty so picked the Retina Sear / Yellow colour. I was instantly impressed upon opening the box, the finish of the helmet is very good and the helmet certainly looks the part - it has a nice compact shape and looks sleek / Aero. I have a 59cm oval shaped head so picked the large version - it fits very well. The helmet has plenty of scope for adjustment with the head cage which also incorporates the MIPS - which is well integrated within the helmet. The helmet works well with my Oakley Jawbreaker sunglasses - no interference with the head cage. I also like the sweat pad at the front of the helmet, designed to stop sweat from dripping onto the lens of your sunglasses. The helmet is certainly well ventilated, my head has been getting a little chilly in the Cold Winter of the UK! I look forward to taking advantage of the extra ventilation in the summer months. In the box you get a spare set of pads, along with a drawstring helmet bag - Another nice touch, as you don't always get these additions with other brands. If I had to be picky I'd say the helmet is a touch heavy. My other helmet is a Kask Protone which feels lighter than the Bell. I guess the extra weight comes from MIPS and the dual polystyrene construction. A small weight penalty for the extra safety features. Im not a huge fan of the straps either. They adjust and fit well enough, however there is too much excess flapping around after adjustment. This kind of defeats the objective of having flat fitting aero straps. All in all I'd say the Bell is a very good helmet. I'm certainly glad I bought it. It is a very good addition for use alongside my Kask Protone.

Pros & Cons
