MTB Pedals Selection Guide

What sort of pedal do you want?

When choosing an MTB pedal, you can choose between a clipless pedal, to which you attach the cleat on the sole of your shoe, and a flat (or platform) pedal on which you stand with a regular shoe. A clipless pedal gives you maximum control of your bike because of the direct connection. The only disadvantage is that getting off the pedal is not easy. This is, then, the advantage of a flat pedal. If you want to be able to both clip in and ride with regular shoes, you can choose a combination pedal.
