Robust construction, great power transfer
These Shimano XT PD-M8120 trail pedals are long-lasting and have an extra large surface area. This ensures that you have more surface area for improved stability and power transfer. That leads not only to increased control, but also better acceleration. It's your ideal partner for the rough jobs!
Bigger platform, innovative design
Compared to its XT M8020 predecessor, the surface area of the platform has become larger. This gives you a larger support area and more control over your bike. Also, its surface has been designed in an innovative way, which enhances the feel with both All Mountain and Enduro shoes. Finally, the axle and bearings of this mountain bike pedal have become even more durable, so you can enjoy these fine pedals for even longer!
• A pair of Shimano SM-SH51 single-release SPD cleats

Good product
The surface area is slightly larger than that of a standard SPD pedal, which means there are fewer pressure points during long rides.

Solid!
Strong, reliable pedals. After 5 years of intensive use, I'm using the same ones again!

Top product!
In my experience, this pedal gives just a bit more support (= thus more power transfer) than a normal SPD pedal. This is with shoes where the SPD cleats do not go beyond the bottom of the shoe sole, because then the cage only serves as protection. That protection the cage does well; I recently had a collision with a fairly thick branch on the path and the cage 'hit' it. I think it's a top product so far and take the few more grams they bring with them for granted!
