It’s more than long enough, and even without special wire cutters, you can cut the cable without it fraying. You can also cut through the outer sheath with ordinary wire cutters; it does crimp shut a little, but you can easily ‘bend it back into shape’.

Pros & Cons

This is the best cable set Shimano can supply and it is indeed a very fine cable set. Even the end caps are clearly of better quality. However, it is quite expensive, especially when you consider that a regular cable set from Shimano is about five times cheaper. It does indeed shift slightly less smoothly, but to say it's a world of difference? Not really. Besides, it makes no difference in terms of wear: both sets wear equally hard.
