According to the product specialist

Pros
Great downhill tyre for varying conditions on dry and wet sand to forest surfaces.
The tall knobs on the sides of the tyre are reinforced, giving extra support and grip when cornering.
DoubleDown for a two-layer 120 tpi carcass with a butyl insert. This keeps the weight down for enduro, but offers the protection of a downhill tyre.
Triple compound MaxxGrip uses the softest rubber compounds for ultimate grip and shock absorption.
Tubeless Ready technology makes the tyres easy to tubeless with 90ml of latex sealant per tyre.
The Maxxis Ikon MTB tyres are all-round and ride well on varying surfaces in different conditions.
The tall knobs give great grip in corners but also when braking.
The Exo Protection shields the sidewalls from sharp rocks.
Ideal tyre if you don't like swapping tyres. The Ikon does well on any terrain.
TLE (TubeLess Easy), technology makes the tyres easy to make tubeless with 90ml of latex sealant per tyre.
Cons
As the Assegai 3C MaxxGrip DD TR tyres are specifically made for downhill racing, they are on the heavy side and may be slightly more difficult to mount than more flexible tyres.
Tubeless sealant should generally be topped up every 3-6 months.
The triple MaxxSpeed compound provides plenty of traction, but has slightly higher rolling resistance than a harder compound.
Tubeless sealant should generally be topped up every 3-6 months.
