According to the product specialist

Pros
Lightweight, durable and stiff, these Shimano R8000 SPD-SL pedals are great value for money!
The aluminium inserts on the carbon surface make the pedals wear less quickly and make the contact surface larger.
The pedals' flat design allows for cornering at a 33 degree angle, so you can keep pedalling longer and are less likely to touch the ground.
The dual BOA L6Z dials on each shoe make it easy to make micro-adjustments on the go for optimal comfort.
The Shimano RC703 cycling shoe has an extremely stiff carbon sole that provides direct and efficient power transfer, which is essential in top class cycling.
The shoe's low stack height provides a direct pedal feel, increasing power transfer efficiency.
The seamless construction between the shoe's sole and upper contributes to lower overall weight and more stability.
As the pedal has double bearings, it rotates smoothly and reduces energy loss during pedalling.
With a carbon composite body, the pedal is stiff and relatively light.
-
The dual BOA L6 closures allow for micro-adjustments to the fit even while cycling, preventing annoying pinch points.
The wide surface of the carbon pedals gives you great stability when standing on them for a fierce sprint.
The women-specific design makes for an excellent snug fit on a narrower foot, which helps prevent blisters and irritation after a long ride.
The pedal axle is particularly well sealed against water and dirt, ensuring long product life without any issues.
Cons
The perforations in the shoes provide excellent ventilation in warm weather but in cold conditions you will need to wear overshoes or thicker socks to prevent your feet getting cold.
The pedals come with yellow cleats, which have more float than blue or red cleats.
As the bearings in the pedal axle are not as superbly sealed as in higher-end pedals, they will wear out faster.
Because of its breathability, the shoe is not waterproof and may cause your feet to feel chilly in winter.
-
The stiff carbon sole is less comfortable when walking but gives you a huge gain in speed while cycling.
As the shoes are not made of waterproof materials, your feet may get wet in the rain but the shoes ventilate very well on summer days.
