This cassette has a somewhat better finish than the R8000 Ultegra cassette. For example, the CS-HG800 is more corrosion resistant than the CS-R8000, so it's better suited to off-road use. Plus, the HG800 is a little heavier than the R8000 version, but doesn't compromise on quality. In all, this lightweight cassette is ideal for long climbs, while barely sacrificing any of its properties suited for long, flat roads.
Cassette's width:
The 11/34 gear ratio cassette is the same width as a 10-speed mountain bike cassette. Plus, the umbrella-shaped spider also fits over a 10-speed mountain bike freehub body.
• Number of individual components: 9
• Material: nickel-plated steel
• Spider: Aluminium
• Cogs on the cassette: 11-13-15-17-19-21-23-25-27-30-34
• Weight according to Shimano: 335 grams
• Cassette comes with an 1.85 mm spacer.
• For other gearing look at the Ultegra R8000 11 speed cassette.
- Ultegra R8000 long cage derailleur (RD-R8000 GS, RD-R8050 GS)
- 105 R7000 long cage derailleur (RD-R7000 GS)

- GRX RX-815 Di2 11-speed Rear derailleur
To assemble and disassemble this cassette you'll need specific cassette tools. These can be found here.
Don't forget the assembly grease!
The lockring of your cassette can be well tightened, in some cases up to 40 Nm. To make removing the lockring in the future easier, we recommend lubricating it with a bit of assembly grease. You can find our selection of assembly greases here.

There are two cassettes, with two separate product codes, listed on this page. These two cassettes are part of the same groupset and are of the same quality. However, there are differences in their range and compatibility.
The CS-R8000 cassettes are available with ranges between 11/25 and 11/32, and fit a Shimano HG 9-12 speed body. The CS-HG800 cassette is available with an 11/34 range, and is just as wide as a 10-speed mountain bike cassette. It'll fit on an HG 9-12 speed freehub body as well as a 10-speed mountain bike freehub body.

HG-800 is not Ultegra quality
Unfortunately, the 11-34 isn’t Ultegra quality (please bear this in mind when ordering). The cassette is heavy and couldn’t be adjusted without making noise, as a) the shift teeth rub against the chain from above (very tight fit) and b) resonance is caused by the spider arm. Unfortunately, it was a bad buy. Delivery from Mantel was excellent!

There is no better way to cycle... Shimano!!! :)
Not assembled yet but expect to match my fit level with the expected cadence to reach my mountain cycling this year.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Great cassette, durable and smooth shifting.
Great cassette, shifts super smooth with a correctly adjusted derailleur. Lasts a long time, for example in combination with a KMC chain and Squirt wax. Too bad Shimano does not have a 12-30 and/or 12-28 variant (also not with other cassette lines like the Ultegra R8000, by the way).
