Pros & Cons
- This KMC chain is very durable because of the nickel-plated links and the use of harder materials than those used by most manufacturers.
- The recesses make this chain even lighter than KMC chains without recesses.
- This chain ensures excellent shifting performance in all conditions.
- This chain maintains its level of performance even if you use different cassettes, such as on a different wheel or a turbo trainer, for example.
- This chain is available in awesome colours!
- Due to the use of harder material, this chain makes more noise during cycling than the original model.

Description
Description
Durability and shifting performance
KMC chains are known for their durability and excellent shifting performance. The links of this chain are nickel-plated, making it last longer than chains from other manufacturers. Also, this chain is chamfered with high precision to maximise shifting properties.
Extra Light version
The KMC X11EL (Extra Light) 11-speed chain has chamfered inner and outer plates to reduce weight; with this chain, you're not hauling a gram too many on your ride!
Compatible with all gear groups
The KMC X11EL 11-speed road and mountain bike chain can be used with Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo gear groups. It comes with a missing link for easy mounting and dismounting.
Need tools?
• To install the cassette, you need a sprocket remover tool (chain whip) and a cassette remover tool. These can be found here .• To adjust the length of the chain, you need a chain breaker (chain rivet tool). These can be found here.
• To close the missing link, you need missing link pliers. These can be found here.
• A chain checker (chain wear indicator tool) allows you to see to which extent your chain is worn out, so you can replace it in due time. Chain checkers can be found here.

Best value!
I have ridden 10k twice with this chain. I have this chain for all of my bikes.

Maybe just a bad experience - any comeback Mantel?
I have had this chain before and I can’t really fault it other than the fact it did not last very long. I bought a new one and it twisted and came off my chainring and was essentially useless thereafter. Therefore, it’s a pretty weak chain. That being said, if I didn’t have this issue I would buy it again. Maybe it was a manufacturing issue / once off etc.

Easy peasy new chain
I used to use Campagnolo chains for the campag drive set, but I now use the KMC chains

Good quality at reasonable price
I have been using mostly KMC chains for some years. Overall, they provide better value than the equivalent chains sold under drive chain manufacturers names. They have never let me down whether used for touring, club rides or general day to day cycling. The EL chain is the one I always come back to as it provides a good balance between weight, longevity and quality.
