Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- A specialist on cross-country and marathon courses thanks to its powerful grip on rocks and roots, in both dry and wet weather.
- Perfect to use as a rear tyre thanks to its lower rolling resistance, combined with a front tyre with taller knobs for more grip.
- The short knobs on the tread surface make the Ardent Race fast on straights and the tall side knobs give you confidence in corners.
- The Exo Protection protects the sidewalls from sharp objects.
- Tubeless Ready technology makes the tyres easy to make tubeless with 90ml of latex sealant per tyre.
- The soft MaxxSpeed rubber provides a lot of grip, but it also wears out quickly.
- Tubeless sealant should generally be topped up every 3-6 months.

Maxxis 3C Triple compound mountain technology uses a harder, longer lasting base layer and two progressively softer top layers in order to optimise traction and stability. Maxxis offers three different versions of their 3C Triple compound mountain technology: Maxx speed, Maxx Terra and Maxx Grip.
Maxx speed
Used primarily in cross country and enduro tyres, the two compounds in the outer layer are especially formulated to reduce rolling resistance and to optimise grip.
EXO Protection
An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material has been added to the sidewalls of select mountain bike tyres. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected. Choose EXO protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.
Tubeless ready
Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a clincher; and less chance of flats since there's no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty.
Weight: 770 grams
This weight has been indicated by the manufacturer, and may differ from the tyre's true weight if you weigh it at home yourself. This deviation is generally small and is due to the production process.

Fast and careful delivery, I recommend
The ardent Race is excellent for front-mounted XC riding on semi-rigids in the garrigue. Inflated to 1.4 for 90kg
5 / 5
I'm very satisfied with this tyre, although I've tried many others.
My bikes are fitted with Maxxis Ardent Race tyres, which are good all year round.
4 / 5
Quick in corners and easy to tubeless
The tyre has great grip when going through corners at an angle and top on fast corners
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Good cover overall.
It is not a tyre that stands out in anything, but neither lacks anything, it is very versatile, I wear it both front and rear for technical areas with lots of loose stones and always dry terrain, very happy with them the truth, they do not weigh down despite the weight which is the only bad thing I see, maxxis on the one hand is synonymous with quality and on the other hand is one of the heaviest brands on the market, if not the heaviest brand.
