Top tyre that lasts 4000km without going flat.
Because of the quality of this tubeless tyre, I only need to replace it when the heads are worn out after about 4000km. In all that time, I never ride flat. I use them on Curacao with its prickles and sharp rocks and consistently buy the same Maxxis tyres because they are so reliable. This tyre also gives good grip on sandy hills and gravel slopes.

A top band/brand
We are very satisfied with the Maxxis tyres, we have been cycling with them for years in the Netherlands but also in Austria in the mountains, never any punctures, the wear and tear on these tyres is not too bad, you can play around with the tyre in terms of air pressure, we don't want any other brand.

Fantastic tires. Should have bought much earlier!
For years I rode the original outer tires on my MTB. Tires with large studs, which were not at all suitable for NL conditions (in retrospect). This tire gives so much more grip in corners, saves a lot of braking and acceleration.

Top rear tires
I love this tire and have been using it for over 5 years on the rear of my epic evo. In the south of France, even with the aggressive terrain we have, it doesn't flinch. Wear a little faster than other models. I recommend

Worthwhile in any case

Great rolling machine
I wear the rekon race tire on the rear and it's very good, it's rolling without ballast.

Top band that does what it is designed to do .
The rekon race is for me a topper on the Dutch trails . Ride it with the ardent race as a front tire both in size 2.35 .

Good grip, low resistance
Good grip on dry surfaces. Rolls smoothly.

Great rear tyre for road and single tracks in not too wet conditions
Rolls better than the coarse tread of the non-"race" version. Therefore, this is a typical rear tyre and less suitable as a front tyre

Fast rolling easy mounting tyre
Felt sturdier than the swalble I kept puncturing. Yet very Easy to mount tubeless. Very fast rolling yet great dry cornering grip.

Top, good use
Top tyres for good grip

Nice fast tyre
Despite the small studs, the tyre still gives a lot of confidence

Fast tyre, less suitable as a front tyre in winter
Tyre that does an excellent job in dry and slightly wet conditions. In muddy or rocky environments, it performs less well, especially as a front tyre.

Zoefffffff
I opted for the 2.25 in 120TPI, front and rear. What a fast and nice and smooth tyre ! And has really top grip in corners, much more than you would expect from such a tyre. Even performs well on wet ground. Great tyre for most Dutch routes.

Best rear tyre from Maxxis
I’ve used these all season on the rear and they have proven to be faultless. They don’t give you much braking grip but I rely on the front for the final bite. I used them on the front but found them to be a little too light on grip on natural single track.

Once tubeless, you don't want to use tubes again.
An experienced MTB rider had recommended these tyres to me for fast XC cycling on Dutch trails. For that, it is perfect! A much better tyre than the standard cheap Maxxis tyres that had been supplied on my bike from the shop.

Good feeling mounted on the rear wheel.

Very fine band, can do a lot
2.35 falls nicely round/bulb on a 30mm INNER width rim. Chance of punctures low, based on the terrain I have already ridden in with this tyre, I dare say. Wear acceptable. Very easy TL fitting. Ride the Rekon Race both front and rear. No surprises.

Best price and fast everything excellent

Goeie snelle banden
Top bandjes, rollen goed en redelijk veel grip (meer dan verwacht). Tanwalls zijn iets donkerder in het echt maarja dat zijn maar looks.

Easy to fit and fast rolling
Seem great, easy to fit and fast-rolling with low profile central knobs. Haven't ridden on them much yet though.

No cons to think of
I use this tyre as a front tyre with an Aspen 2.25 as a rear tyre. A very nice tyre combination. An Aspen tyre as a front tyre gives just too little grip and this Race Rekon does not let you down in the sharper corners.

One of the best. POLIVALENT covered!!!
I was using the Ikon, I wanted a bit more grip without penalising the rolling. They are a little heavier, but they are more comfortable and durable. Used on 25mm internal width rim.

The perfect hard compound tyre.
Finally it's here ! Ok, to be honest, my choice of tyres might be a bit idiosyncratic but I am happy that Maxxis now makes a tyre I have been looking for for a while. I like to ride with 30mm internal rims for extra strength. A 2.25 tyre is just nothing because of the bulge and a 2.35 is then the minimum that fits nicely on it. The Rekon race is one of the few in 2.35 with a very small stud, which is sufficient in the Netherlands but is also available in ern skinwall. A fast and light rolling tyre with excellent grip on Dutch trails. In heavy rain and mud, not the right choice, but just in dry weather the perfect hill tyre.
