Wahoo TICKR

Leuk in het begin, duurkoop later
Ik ga iets anders aanschaffen. Dit ding werkte in het begin goed maar na een paar maanden beginnen de problemen met registratie.

Service life 2 years
Fast connection Compatible with all my meters/appliances No signal loss 1 battery/year Despite cleaning after each use, the sensor is out of order after 2 years at 2/3 uses/week

Unreliable
I have two of these HR meters. With both, the heart rate recording is top notch, both in Bluetooth and ANT+. On all rides, it takes up to sometimes half an hour before the heart rate is displayed correctly, and then really only when a vigorous effort has been made for an extended period of time. I have also had rides of several hours in which the registration was never correct. There is a connection, but the displayed value is not correct. Currently, the HR always starts at about 120 bpm, which lasts about half an hour, while the effort varies. Sometimes the HR disappears completely, only to return. After every ride I wash the band out, so it is not due to sweat deposits. Already changed battery several times: no success. So this does not help at all. Just because this is the case with both HR meters: bad and unusable product. I also had 2 bands of the previous generation, with which I never had problems. For me never again a Tickr.

What a mess
Heart rate lingers at too low a value for a long time, then shoots up and works normally for a while before dropping to an abnormally low value again.

Poor product.
Very unfortunate, but this sensor does not help you at all. Values are not correct.

Brol, despite firmware update it keeps showing wrong heart rate, always x2
Works poorly, bought to replace old garmin heart rate belt but after few months displayed heart rate is not correct (little used) displayed heart rate is double. Firware update did not help. I will just go back to using my old garmin band, it still works after 8 years.

does not work
Used for a few months, but either the signal drops out or it gives wrong values. I bought it to replace the previous TICKR model whose band broke, but now use the new band with my old meter. The current model just doesn't work.

Poor heart rate monitor, worthless product
Worst heart rate monitor ever! What a lousy product from Wahoo this is. The heart rate already makes difficult contract despite the lit/blinking LEDs. If you then connect to the heart rate with via the Wahoo app you do get connection but you can then lose it at once while cycling, really not nice. And these problems are there despite the fact that the firmware is up to date and there are premium batteries in it (something wahoo indicates on their site). I also wet the contact points of the band well. This is already the 2nd Wahoo band to malfunction within a year. And I read that more people experience these problems, now I have to look for another heart rate monitor that WELL works!

Better buy a heart rate monitor from another brand
I am going to report this heart rate belt for warranty for the 4th time. Problems keep occurring with values not displaying correctly. Think of getting stuck on the same value, not displaying correct values, or delay in displaying correct values. Fortunately, Mantel has been accommodating enough to replace the product each time. It seems like the product is not properly waterproof and therefore damaged every time. I will now ask if this product can not be replaced for a heart rate monitor of another brand.
Pros & Cons

worthless
looks qualitative. Only shame is that it doesn't work. Can't connect to Wahoo Roam, so worthless.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Unreliable
Often suffer from unreliable measurements: heart rate suddenly stuck at 1 value in the middle of a workout, even with varying efforts. Hand-measured heart rate differences do occur. Shifting the strap can sometimes cause it to come loose with the device. Unfortunately, first heart rate strap I experience problems with.

next heart rate belt anyway definitely back a Garmin.
nice design but heart rate data is sometimes incorrect.

Insufficiently sustainable
In May 2020 bought the Wahoo heart rate monitor for the 2nd time against my better judgment. The first one I had wore out after 2 years. Now we are 21 months on and it is already failing again. In terms of durability unfortunately insufficient
Pros & Cons

quality is commensurate with price
This is now my 3rd Tickr. Unfortunately, this is the prime example of Consumer electronic: the lifespan is set just after the 2-year warranty. (Electronics are no longer waterproof after replacing the battery several times; it gets wet from sweat, and you probably get corrosion; also the buttons that connect the band to the device are worn out after 2 years and sometimes break off). Still, I buy these again and again because I am molded to be a consumer: there are no durable alternatives available. The heart rate monitor connects without problems to Suunto sports watch and Garmin edge cycling computer. However, many bluetooth devices together seem to disturb the connection (heart rate monitor connected to Garmin edge, Garmin edge connected to cell phone, and wireless earphones connected to cell phone; with all these connections together, the heart rate monitor sometimes seemed to drop out on the bike computer).

Comfortable accurate heart rate monitor but with lesser longevity
Nice and comfortable heart rate monitor. Values are always correct. Has handy LED lights that indicate for the first 30sec whether the device is on or not, that way in case of any connection problems with your bike computer you know if it's because of the bike computer or the heart rate monitor. Would have expected more longevity for a product from Wahoo though. Was only able to use it for 10,000 kilometers, after this the heart rate monitor did not turn on even with new batteries. If you cycle a lot maybe look for something else.

Good material
The first time I tried to connect the heart rate monitor to Zwift via Bluetooth, it did not work properly. The following times there was no problem anymore. The heart rate monitor sits very comfortably. Good device!

Reliable heart rate recording
It is my second one. Since it is still active at times when not in use, I would pull the battery out each time and it wore out the slot to remove the battery. Now I disconnect the bluetooth

Light band, less convenient than the Garmin
Unlike my Garmin heart rate monitor strap, it only works after you wet the sensors. Otherwise fine thing.

A great heart rate belt
Bought it to replace yet another Garmin belt that quickly gave out on me again. I like the simple battery change, the LEDs to check that it's working properly, the very fast connection and the responsiveness. No need to get the sensors very wet. It's comfortable and works very well even in cold weather when you don't perspire much. The quality seems very good. To be confirmed with use. And much less expensive than Garmin for those who don't use stride stats. I'd recommend it.

If you're looking for a Bluetooth/Ant+ heart rate sensor, the Tickr is a good choice
Have only had experience with uncoded heart rate sensor, so no experience with other brands. This Wahoo Tickr sensor works super well with my iPad, is also very comfortable.

Works as expected
Have ridden it several times now and haven't had any problems. Status lights for connection and heart rate are a nice addition that lets you know if it is working (properly). The way you attach the strap is very handy.

Convenient to use and compact
Very easy to set up with the Wahoo APP and very easy to connect to the Wahoo Element ROAM GPS.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Easy install, accuracy, convenient tool.
I purchased the heart rate monitor because with my AppleWatch, I kept having to lift an arm/wrist from the handlebars to read the heart rate. That is not convenient and certainly not safe with speed to steer and watch with one hand. So your eyes are not on the road. Now I can read the heart rate with both hands on the handlebars on my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt. Minus point: the installation does not indicate that the rubbers left and right of the heart rate monitor should be slightly moistened, idem when you start cycling, not yet sweaty, for a good contact.

Best heart rate monitor on the market
Best heart rate monitor. Works even better with the lights on top. Easy to put on and take off. Reliable. Considerably better than the Polar H10. Highly recommended.

The belt is quick and easy to put on. The LEDs on the top show you whether the belt is detecting your heartbeat. The sensor is not too thick and does not interfere with training.
