The tire searches very much in along grooves in stone pavement, even laid tight, the tire searches the grooves making you feel like the bike is sliding sideways.

Every week, I cycle 120km commuting on a sporty hybrid. The Vredestijn tyres, type I don't remember, were starting to run out. After 2x punctures, I decided to try the Marathon Plus, mainly because of the positive reviews about its anti-puncture properties. I have now had about 500 trouble-free kilometres. It's a nice tyre and it's highly visible in the dark because of the reflection. However, I do feel that it cycles a bit heavier than its predecessor and I still have to get used to the feeling when cornering. Maybe the thick rubber makes for a bit less feeling with the road surface? I am convinced, though, that this benefits anti-leakage and longevity. At the moment, I still think that the next set will be more sporty again, but first let's see how long these Marathon Plus tyres last.

First, this review is based mostly on bicycle tour and everyday riding. That is what I use my bicycle for. I do not have a car and I don't really like to use public transportation. I only get around by bike. This is the third time I've these tires. I love them. They are built very well, almost puncture proof and the tread is made so water will go off to the side. My last pair were 28 x 1.5, but these are 28 x 1.4. Personally, I like the 1.5 better. It's nice to have a wider tire - more comfortable, more control, and less of a chance of a puncture. But I will add that I am not upset with the purchase. Due to how sturdy these are, and the tread pattern, and the puncture protection, I do recommend them

An excellent tire, just rode about 50 km, nice grip even on wet pavement. The tire is a bit stiff. Fitting the tire to the rim is also a bit tricky due to the strongly outward standing tire flanks.

When you drive over tiles the tire goes searching for longitudinal ridges which feels like you suddenly have a flat tire and starts swabbing very irritating.

After almost 100km I can pass judgment on this outer tire. Very sturdy but also slightly heavier than normal outer tire. Good rolling properties on normal and slippery roads. On the latter also very good grip. The tread is quite supple which greatly benefits the puncture resistance but has the disadvantage that the tire finds its way a bit in the longitudinal grooves on worse roads and cobblestone joints. This gives a strange feeling, as if you are in danger of sliding away when you are not. Therefore 4 instead of 5 stars. Highly recommended. A bit more difficult to fit around your rim though.

Excellent tires. I live in Amsterdam and there is often a lot of glass on the bike paths, yet I hardly ever puncture with these tires (that was different before I started using anti-puncture tires.

With this super tire you will ride thousands of miles without annoying punctures.

Fine tyre that is easy to fit. Lies nicely around the rim, giving good roadholding. Lots of grip. Could be slightly wider for more comfort. Now we just have to wait and see what the lifespan does.

This one is for electric bikes, not for bikes that sometimes ride on sand. Because, in the the groove of the tyre creep sharp pebbles that eventually push their way through the tyre (at least from an ordinary outer tyre) and so you will puncture much faster. If you sometimes take on sand, don't take this marathon, but another type (I don't know the exact designation).

The Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres positively surprised me where the Swalbe One tyres were flat after just 1 ride these tyres were put under my gravel bike. With 4 bar enough grip in the forest and a light run on the road. Mounting is only VERY difficult, the tyres are really too stiff for that.

Been riding co-determination tire for quite a long time, and I like it toe well, because rarely do punctures with this! Just Excellent and well worth its money!!!

After several flat tires in two months (thanks municipality cleaning Amsterdam for not cleaning the streets!) I was fed up and bought these tires on the recommendation of a number of cycling enthusiasts. On a number of websites, the downsides are the lesser riding comfort due to the thick layer and not being able to fit the outer tire around the rim or very difficult to do so. I really have to contradict both, because the riding comfort has actually only improved because now I don't think "that's another flat tire" at every crunch or bump, otherwise the tires roll just fine. I was able to fit the outer tires without any tools, it's exactly the same as with "normal" tires. I don't think there is enough space here to give a complete explanation, but if you already have the tire around the rim at the top of the wheel, you need to pull the metal bead deep into the center of the rim at the top, you will automatically get space at the bottom to get the bead into the rim here as well. No need to use screwdrivers. Pay attention to the rolling direction of the tire, there is an arrow on the sidewall.

For the first 50 to 100 km, the front tire is a little searching. I only did front braking to let the tire wear a bit. After that, a fine tire.

Bought a 2nd hand bike through Marketplace , from a bike shop it turned out, where 1 tire needed replacing. These tires were on it, so ordered these again as well. I looked on the internet, and here at Mantel there was a good price, and they had other things (e.g. seat post) that I also had to have. So the first time I ordered from Mantel, I liked it because it was well packed, fast delivery and good quality stuff for a very competitive price. The tire is a bit stiffer than a cheap tire due to its non puncture properties, so when putting it on you have to do the steps carefully with the right tools and it will be fine.

Schwalbe is quality. Costs (a little) more, but I see that as an investment. One puncture and the pleasure of a "bargain" is quickly forgotten. Just buy the best, mount it and forget about it. Of course even a good tire wears out once, but much later than a lower quality tire. Mantel. Great selection, competitive price, fast delivery. Tip: try to save packing material. An outer tire does not need to be in a big cardboard box. Also lives the rest of its existence outside on my bike.

Bought new e-bike 9 years ago with standard factory tires. At the first ride over the Drentse heath, immediately a flat tire. (Less than 200 km). I immediately had a Schwalbe Marathon Plus mounted at the dealer. Now almost 15000 km further, never had a flat tire. Today I had a new one mounted. It wasn't even really necessary yet, but because of a cycling vacation I decided to be on the safe side. Once a Marathon Plus, always a Marathon Plus.

Because of my frequent punctures, I chose this tire in size 622-47. The tire feels robust and sturdy. Certainly better than the average tire from the hardware store. It was a bit more work to mount it, it is very tight around the rim. I also had to tinker a bit to make the size 47 tire fit the fender. But that was a conscious choice. The tire rides a little heavier than the Schwalbe tire I had before, but on an electric bike you don't notice that much.
