Reviews over the
Schwalbe Big Apple Active

Good first experience with band and store.
Quickly delivered and surprised... Ordered two different Schwalbe tires 50-622, 28x2.00. Of my preference, only 1 was for sale. However, both tires were of the Big Apple type. 1 x Active K-Guard Twin Skin euro 19.95. The other was the Performance Line Raceguard á euro 20.95. The difference was unfortunately not entirely clear to me even on the Schwalbe site.... The surprise was that the most expensive tire did not have the thickest sidewalls, but rather thin ones (raceguard, ..light tire, aha!). Since I am over 6 feet tall and weigh about 125 to 130 pounds, I actually wanted to put the 'best', most expensive tire on my rear rim. But since that tire has thin sidewalls, I mounted the tires the other way around anyway. Lightest tire in front. Thick cheeks in the rear. Both tires were fairly easy to mount on the rim, but with tire levers. Previously I had tires of similar price, the CST Classic Zeppelin. These, in my case, always wore out within about three months. By that I mean the sidewalls. Not so bad, but then cracks appeared on the tread as well. I only rode a few times a month, but the bike was always outside (out of the sun as much as possible because of the tires). Now I should probably start using the bike on weekdays, so I'll see how these two Big Apple tires perform at maximum pressure of 5 bar. They ride just fine.

Good for the paved road
Put these slippers on my Cube 29'er. Does look a little skinny on me bike but you don't see that when you ride it. Handling on bike paths and other paved roads is fine. Do notice that the bike takes its own route as soon as you hit the sand or mud. This is why I won't take the MTB course. The rolling resistance is low and you get up to speed quickly. That is what I bought the tires for, so in that respect they are certainly fine.

Fantastic band
This is a fantastic outer tyre. Not only does it give your bike a cool look, but you'll clearly notice that the ride comfort is a lot better.

The perfect tyre for the countryside!
A super fine band! I just hadn't thought that I wouldn't be able to put my bike in a bike rack anywhere now. They are designed for thinner tyres. My previous tyre, also with a coarse tread, just barely fitted, but not this one.

top band
were supplied as standard on my new bike pegasus tecaro sl which I use as a holiday bike. Replaced rear tyre after 8000 km on asphalt sand and gravel roads. Never suffered a puncture, runs smoothly, is wear-resistant and very comfortable.

Fine slickies for the road with mtb
I looked for a long time for good tyres to ride on the road; these are a really good choice in terms of price and quality. After a few hundred km, haven't had any trouble. Roadholding is good, low rolling resistance, easy to throw around the rim. Great tyres!
