Great tyre performs well
I’ve used continental tyres for a few years now and am very happy with the way they perform, never get punctures and they always grip well in winter , I ride over 4000 miles a year and replace my tyres annually, great tyres thanks

Dont buy
After buying gp5000 today i get puncture. But it was so badly and tyre is trash now. İ put New inner tube but Hole was big. İ just walk 10km with bike. İ dont recommend this tyre dont buy.
Pros & Cons

Tire too tight.
I was not able to test the tire because even after much wriggling it did not fit around the rim. In the end, the thread broke and I could already throw the tire away.

one continental 5000 tire unusable.the other 2 no problem.
On three tires ordered, one has a hernia once inflated, tried on several wheels same finding, very dissatisfied with my purchase, I sent you an email through your site no response from you. bonne journée

Not as good as its predecessor
Very unfortunate that the 4000II is no longer available, this is not a worthy replacement. It immediately sprung a leak during the second ride and after a few thousand kilometers it has sprung 3 more. I had much less with its predecessor.

Worthless product for tubeless
Always rode conti but never go tubeless with this brand
Pros & Cons

Never had as many punctures as with these tires.
Now to write a review anyway. Never had as many punctures as with these tires. It also does not feel like there is a puncture resistant layer in them. Not recommended

Conti GP 5000 is worse than its predecessor
Now my 4th conti GP 5000 in 3 months, side of tires are tearing. Seem to be production errors

No continental tires, bad for your wheels
Started riding these tires last year. Very difficult to get around the rim. Also when punctured it takes a lot of force to get the tire off and move forward again. Fortunately the tire does not puncture very often. Not much later I switched to handmade rims. Because of the force on the spokes. The rim builder showed that this too small tire put so much pressure on the spokes that a reduction of 100nm per spoke could be observed. On his advice I took a handmade slick tire. Which not only does not press the spokes together. Also costs the same. And is much quieter, and better grip. My advice don't get continental tires. Very bad for your spokes/wheels.

Disappointing tires
I have had many 4000 s (II) tires and rode them in all weather conditions. Good tires, punctures on average once a year and perfect grip. The 5000 is a total disappointment. Every other week there is a puncture, they wear out very fast and in wet weather they slip in turns. I would hate to go downhill with them in wet weather.
Pros & Cons
1 / 5
Beautiful tire with lousy quality
First impression positive: coats are light, have low rolling resistance and look good. After 200 km then the disillusionment: crack in the side flank at low speed on smooth asphalt. This should not happen with a tire in this price range.
Pros & Cons
1 / 5
Far too expensive for what it is worth.
After less than 1000 km a cut in the side so it can go in the trash. Inner tube comes through. Also not so good experiences in terms of durability with the 4 seasons tire. I will avoid continental in the future. Far too expensive for what it is worth.
Pros & Cons
1 / 5
Too narrow
Always liked these tires but apparently there is a new version that is narrower than before. 25 mm is actually 23 mm, with my previous set of tires it was 26 mm.

Junk, paid almost €90 and after 4 weeks already totally used up!
Purchased through Mantel. Within 200 KM 2x punctures, front and rear. Then braked for crossing duck and profile runs flat totally off resulting in a complete hole.
Pros & Cons
1 / 5
Quick leak
Tire is significantly faster to puncture than predecessor 4000.

Tire is worn on arrival
Tire worn out on arrival. After 30(!!!!)km already a hole in the outer tire and puncture. Should be a new tire...? !
Pros & Cons

Too tight, leaks quickly and takes away all your fun.
Do you always want to stand on the shoulder of the road, make a weekly splash with your Co2 pump and never get your tires properly on your rim? Then this is the tire for you! Since these folding tires, I have been puncturing both front and rear at least weekly. 16 times in three months to be exact. After I replaced them with p-zero's all the trouble was gone: never again a flat. These tires are so thin, if you look at them they are already flat. And warranty? Hell no. Lost a fortune on tubes and cartridges, not to mention the purchase price of these tires.

Poor quality won’t buy again
I have had the GP 4000’s for years and have sworn by them. The 5000’s have a very very thin sidewall and ruptured on my first ride. The ride itself was good and the grip too was good but the paper thin walls mean they are useless. I have read that this is a common problem.
Pros & Cons

very tight band, doesn't always fit nicely.
tire is too tight, therefore it does not fit well on all wheels. I had the 23mm myself, they also don't fall well with ffwd wheels, making you bump while riding. It also didn't fit on my time trial wheel because it was too tight. If you get a flat with this in winter, it becomes quite impossible (with cold hands) to change your tire.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
A bit expensive, too bad.
Very excited at the idea of installing them when I find them cheaper from competitors. To be avoided for the city.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
beautiful, but tears quickly
1 tire had a crack within 1000 kilometers. New tire ordered, again a tear and puncture after 1 ride (just on the road). Next time something else for me anyway.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Torn after 8 months
2 tires cracked all along the sidewalls 8 months and 1000 km after purchase. 40€ tire to throw in the garbage. Yet I adjust the pressure once a week and store the bike in a cellar at a fairly constant temperature and out of the sun. If not, it grips well even on wet ground or in tight corners. But it's a waste of money. I don't recommend it.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Doubtful
Normally really very satisfied with these tires. Now in need of a new tire for the 2nd time in 6 weeks, due to tearing at the seam. No idea what is happening here, but it really seems like a production error now. Walking home also gets boring, even when the sun is shining, so really going to try something else now.
Pros & Cons

Fast but limp tire
Always been a big fan of Continental GPs, but the love is starting to cool quickly. Already got sidewall cracks on a couple of zgan new tires. Quality is not what it used to be....

Unworthy successor to the GP4000. I ride legendarily flat.
I have been cycling for 20 years and ride 10,000 km a year. For years I rode Schwalbe Ultremo (now Schwalbe One) and GP 4000 and had +- 2 punctures a year. Since about 2 years I ride GP 5000 and never had so many punctures ! On average after 1000 to 2000 km. Very quickly cracks appear in the tire which fill up with small stones. Also little grip in wet weather. For me this is a highly overrated tire and I have switched back to Schwalbe One.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
A band I didn't enjoy for as long as I had hoped.
The tire did not last as long as expected. Max thousand kilometers lasted in dry weather. Ridden in wet weather, rear tire was full of small bits of damage, some through the casing. Not the tire with the best experience for me.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Runs well but poor puncture resistance
The tire runs well. The puncture resistance of this tire of this brand is greatly reduced. In 3 days 3x punctures. Despite checking the tire very carefully for mini pebbles
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Doesn't last long!
Could replace front and rear 2x in three months due to deep cuts through the kevlar! Absolutely not puncture resistant and durable. My previous standard conti grand prix (so not the 5000) lasted for years!
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Not satisfied, bought schwalbe
Had 2x crack in sidewall. Never had this with the 4000.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Deformation of tire after 1000km
After 1000 km I notice deformation in the tire. Both in height and width. And yes it lies well on the rim and checked with different tubes. Seems like less care is taken in the production process. Been riding conti for 10+ years and also the 4 seasons which are a lot better.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
For me never again
Within a year cracking and puncturing. I was very satisfied with the Continental 4000 but not this one for me anymore
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Not everything used to be better but the GP 4000 certainly was
Ridden the 4000 for years. This is a steep drop in durability compared to that.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Nice but not 25mm and thus not the desired or expected tire
This 25mm is less wide than my previous 25mm. This one rather 23mm. So gives much less comfort. Wonder if a 28mm would then match a 25 from before?????
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
No improvement over predecessor
Setback in that this tire is less comfortable and wears faster than the GP 4000 SII
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Cycles great, but punctures way too quickly!
After previously cycling very many kilometers without problems on the GP4000, last year I switched to the GP5000. In the meantime we are already on the 2nd set. Not because they are so pleasant, but because they leak very quickly. This is definitely my last set of GP5000 because I hardly dare to make a long trip on this set anymore. It may be bad luck, but as I read I am not the only one with this experience.
Pros & Cons

Good service Mantel, quality Contain
Driven less than 1,000 km with it. Now in last 200 km, punctured three times....
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Mwah, mediocre band
Fine tire, but can't remotely match the gp4000s2. That tire lasted around 4500 km without puncturing too often. The 5k significantly more
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Good racing tire
There is almost no way to put the tire on properly. Ended up costing me 2 tubes and 2 plastic tire levers. Then took it to the bike shop. He even had to use an auxiliary tool to put the tires on. Next time I will buy the 4000 series.

Rubber flies off at emergency stop
Have always driven Conti for its wear and puncture resistance, this has unfortunately been lost to achieve low weight. During an emergency stop, where normally only a flat spot appears on the tread, a large piece of rubber broke out. In 8500km I used up 2 rear tires. No more Continental Grand Prix 5000 for me.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Looking for another band
This tire is worse than its predecessor the GP4000, the rubber is softer. Pebbles etc. will stick to the tire more quickly, and then penetrate inside. Continental, please put the 4000 back on the market.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Way too stiff to mount
Mounting it on my carbon rims is almost no do, even the bike shop couldn't get it done. How am I ever supposed to get it off my rims again? No idea. Meanwhile it cycles fine, but so stiff is really not ok.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Not again :)
New set of front and rear tyres with new tubes. On the outward journey (70km) rear tyre punctured (small tear in tyre as big as pinky nail), can happen. On the return journey next day front tyre punctured. In short, not this set again for me. Only rode asphalt. Was 33 degrees though, maybe that was it?
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Good band but there are some in between that are just too small.
Have already worn out different tyres of this brand but the last one was very difficult to fit and I damaged it in the process. For me, therefore, no more Continentals. A pity, because it is a good tyre with a lot of grip.
Pros & Cons

Mooie band, te strak voor mijn wiel.
Mooie band, rijdt heerlijk. Echter bijna niet om velgen te krijgen (Reynolds solitude). Zie op tegen lekke band onderweg.

Brown suitable for clean roads only
Great looking version but sidewall on brown version wafer thin / i have the all black version on another bike and have had no issues after many miles of use ..

Great tyre but horrendously tight to fit to Ksyrium Elite Wheels
These tyres were extremely tight to fit. I have fitted many 4000 SII previously with no issues. With these tyres I punctured 4 inner tubes in the fitting process and had to get a friend to assist me to finally get them on successfully on my Ksyrium Elite wheels. Now dreading the prospect of having a puncture out on the road. Shall look for other tyres which are easier to fit than GP5000 when the time comes to replace them. It is a shame really, as I have used Continental tyres for many years without issue.
Pros & Cons
3 / 5
nice and good tire in my opinion but way too tight for easy fitting
Nice folding tire but very difficult to mount. Both first and second rings of the tire can only be gotten over the rim with vigorous use of (plastic) lighters.

Does better than other brands.
Use two to three tires per year. Over time small cracks side tire.

Hard to put down, if not impossible.
Meanwhile my 5th GP5000 already, my experiences are that you can't possibly put the tire on if you have a flat, and without tire levers. Roll resistance is unparalleled, I use it for a whole season and that's 12,000km, even longer in the front. Sidewall casing is frigid, I even had to replace one after 300km, check stones before every ride and remove them. On my other bike I ride with Pirelli, about the same tire in terms of rolling resistance, which can be mounted in a jiffy in case of a flat, just by hand, actually I prefer this Pirelli even more.
Pros & Cons
3 / 5
They always remain among the best
I have been using for many years Continental granprix tires that I alternate with veloflex....remain always among the best but in my opinion have lost smoothness
Pros & Cons
3 / 5
Low rolling resistance , still puncture resistant, but less suitable for wet weather
Tires easy to fit. Little rolling resistance at. Good grip in dry weather, but as soon as the roads are wet you have little grip with these tires.
Pros & Cons

Fast tire that wears out quickly
Does not last long enough (significantly less long than the 4000S II).
Pros & Cons

First to see
Fast delivery, haven't cycled with it yet. Previous 5000 lasted almost 2 years
Pros & Cons

good tires , little rolling resistance , difficult to mount
Very difficult to mount ( Mavic ust wheel)

Always been a fan, until now...
They just wear out too hard. Never had a flat, but they cost me a fortune in tires every year. Recently I recommended Pirelli's Cinturato, which literally lasts twice as long. And in terms of resistance, it is not that bad.

After positive experiences now less so.
After seeing that my previous set of GP5000 needed replacing (after almost 5000km) after much consideration I ordered these last week. Day later in house and mounted. Upon returning home Sunday after 2 long rides I notice a superficial damage on the rear tire. On additional inspection this morning a 2nd one where the inner tube is visible. So that one can already go in the bin. No different ride than usual. The rating becomes 3 stars because 1st set did not cause any problems. This 2nd one did.
Pros & Cons
3 / 5
Fine handling, but durability is questionable.
Just put on the 3rd Conti GP5000 in 2021 already. Hope this one lasts longer than just 900 km. With the previous 2 tires, cracks appeared in the sidewall of the tire, causing me to have flat tires all the time. I never experienced this with its predecessor, the GP4000. Although I am a Conti fan, this will be the last time if this tire does not also last ± 5000 km (which I easily achieved with the GP4000). I would almost think it is a manufacturing defect because I read an earlier review with pictures about this (see Tessa on March 31, 2021) and with me the 2 previous tires tore in the exact same place.... Can't you (Mantel) claim/claim something with Continental, is becoming a very expensive hobby this way.
Pros & Cons
3 / 5
Tire too tight to mount smoothly - once mounted okay
I have been using Conti's for years, but am not so satisfied with the 5000 series. It is simply too difficult to mount. With an aluminum rim I don't mind using a tire lever, but with an expensive carbon rim I really don't like it. In my workshop it is already a chore for 2 people, let alone if you have a flat somewhere on your own. Conti really needs to improve this in the next series!
Pros & Cons
3 / 5
Fitting is very difficult; so far this tire rides superbly.
Still too little riding experience with these tires for an informed judgment. This is the first tire I have had problems mounting on Campagnolo-Eurus rims. Tried all the known tricks and it worked, but with the skins off my hands!
Pros & Cons
3 / 5
Wear is greater than its predecessor the 4000.
Bad marketing ploy. More expensive and less sustainable.....

Better 4000 II S
I have ridden with them about 2000 kms, they go well, but I don't like them. They deceive in the specification, the 25mm (1") ones don't even reach 23mm and they are extremely tight to the rim, it is impossible to mount them by hand. The tires MUST BE MOUNTED AND REMOVED BY HAND with no detachables. I use Lightweight wheels and these wheels do not use tire levers. I have discarded this tire and do not recommend it to my customers.
Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

Very difficult to put the tyre on it
It really is a crime getting the tyre over the rim (and they are not high rims), I almost didn't get it done. Have a feeling that the 4000 S is just a bit easier to fit anyway.

very smooth ride, with good grip
Very difficult to compare the difference between GP 4000 and 5000, but the GP 5000's do give a very smooth ride and fast corners feel safe with a good grip.

Fantastic Tyres
Bought my two GP 5000’s from Mantel, great service, quick delivery. Tyres easily fitted and a great update on the 4000’s.
Pros & Cons

Excellent
Great tyre fast, good grip and brilliant puncture resistance
4 / 5
Super smooth & comfortable but cornering isn’t the best!
Amazing ride quality and a step up in comfort vs my beloved Schwalbe Ones. However this silky smoothness and unreal comfort comes at a cost. When cornering hard on quick descents the sidewalls flex a bit too much for my liking. Otherwise an excellent tyre.

28mm size not 28mm!
I loved the previous version the continental 4000s11, the speed and especially the comfort on knobbly Irish backroads. As this was fazed out I opted for the Grand Prix 5000.The new tyre is substantially smaller than the old 28mm which measured an oversize 30mm plus, the new one measures a scant 26 mm this may not sound like a lot but there is a huge visible difference in clearance on my Giant TCr Advanced 1 So what? The loss of volume means this tyre is a lot less comfortable than the old version. I am considering buying the 32 in the hope this is also undersized by a couple of mill and will fit into my frame.
Pros & Cons
4 / 5
As good and better than the 4000s
4 / 5
Solid set of all-arounders
Low rolling resistance, perhaps wears a bit faster than the GP4000 II
Pros & Cons
4 / 5
Definitely Continental quality
The tire have an incredible gripe but as you may suspect this comes with a price, a low durability. However, it seems to be quite resilient with more of 2000km I have not experience a flat yet.
Pros & Cons

Nice tyre but splits too easily
This is the 3rd tyre to have split this summer - I do a lot of miles, but can't help be disappointed by that. That said, it's a lovely rolling tyre.

Probably the smoothest rolling tyre there is
Have Gp5000 on 4 bikes

Right choice for comfortable/security in the road
Very Good Tyres; expensive but who wants security/confortable all year round is the right selection! an upgrade from the already very good GP4000; the only challenge is still the durability of the tyres

Kvalitetsdäck du inte blir besviken på!

Pros & Cons

Still the best tyres around
Very smooth running tyres, quite durable and puncture resistant, but sidewalls need to be checked every month for cracks. One I bought last year developed a 1cm crack after about 8 months causing the tube to protrude and puncture even though the tyre hadn’t worn down to the wear indicators. Hopefully these ones are better.
