Pros
Mavic Aksium Disc wheels offer unusually good value for money.
The Aksium Disc wheelset is equipped with durable and well-sealed Mavic QRM 2RS bearings. These are less likely to be affected by dirt and moisture, which makes them last longer.
The 17 mm wide rim can accommodate tyres that are 25 to 32 mm wide.
If you register the wheels on Mavic's website, the manufacturer warranty is extended from 2 to 3 years.
Internal rim width of 20 mm, which is 2 mm wider than the P1800. This ensures more comfort and stability, and is ideal for tyres from 28 mm upwards.
23 stands for the rim height; 32 is also available. 23 mm gives more comfort and is lighter, while 32 mm is stiffer and has better power transfer.
The spokes are extra thick at the ends to reduce the risk of spoke breakage and to allow a maximum rider weight of 120 kg.
Thanks to the Pro Lock nipple system your wheels maintain much better spoke tension for a long time.
The durable DT Swiss 370 hubs with a 3-pawl freehub system are well sealed against dirt and water.

The ER 1600 wheels are a higher class in the DT Swiss range compared to the E 1800, these wheels have a better bearing quality, and are lighter and stiffer.
Cons
The Mavic Aksium wheelset is only available with a Shimano 10-11 speed freehub body. A Mavic FTS-L Campagnolo freehub is optionally available.
The 3-pawl body engages less quickly than the ratchet body used in, for example, the PR 1600 series.
With a weight of more than 1760 grams, these wheels are on the heavy side when you have a lot of climbs ahead of you.
