Reviews over the
Maxxis Ardent EXO TLR
4 / 5
Good tyre for winter.
2.4 version would be better for a trail mtb

Recommended as a front tyre vs smart sams
Fine upgrade for my front tyre compared to the (polder model) Smart Sams I bought the bike with. Super grip in the woods, though noticeably more rolling noise and a bit more resistance on asphalt. Great front tyre for in the woods: fast and lots of grip. Recommended in combination with Maxxis Ikon at the back! Of course, delivery was excellent!

Nice upgrade rear tyre vs smart sams
Fine upgrade for my rear tyre compared to the (polder model) Smart Sams I bought the bike with. Great grip in the woods, though noticeably more rolling noise and a bit more resistance on asphalt. Fine rear tyre for in the woods: fast and lots of grip. Highly recommended! Of course, delivery was also top-notch!

Fast all-rounder with good grip.
I ride the Ardent 29" 2.25 with the Ikon 2.20 on the back. Fine tyre combination for year-round riding on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The Ardent is well manoeuvrable and is a real all-rounder. Only at full speed hanging in sharp sandy downhill bends it doesn't like as much, it can tend to break out. But what tyre does that well. The tyre lends itself well to body steering. Came in at 798 grams.

Good all-rounder
Fine tyre for in the woods around here. Where it can be muddy quite often. Less so for connecting between home and the woods. But still a reasonably fast tyre as the coarser studs

Super good tyre
Really good tyre that grips the ground you ride on well.

Meets expectations
After three years of also riding Continental Race king in the front in winter, I experienced that I needed a tyre with more grip (especially on muddy hill rides, such as slag heaps or quarries around Antoing). Forekaster was no longer available, so I opted for this tyre in combination with the Ikon at the back. I have already done two rides with it in the mud, good grip at the front with 1.5kg bar (tubeless), more grip in the corners.

top tyres
pleasantly surprised by the quality of the maxxis tyres, i chose this brand again after having ridden many kilometres on the old ones. i have these on my front wheel, and the ikon exo 3c on my rear wheel. i had the ikon exo on front and rear. notice that i now have more grip in the bowl curves. so more confidence and speed! they are more than worth the money!

A fine tyre with good grip (29x2.4). I use em on the front wheel combined with the Ardent Race on the rear wheel.

Perfection is getting closer
Tested for several years on all types of terrain, MAXXIS ARDENT tyres are a safe bet. A little less rolling resistance and you'll have reached 10/10. At Mantel's unbeatable price, don't deprive yourself.
