Nice set of rims at a great price

- Robin, 21 May, 2026

Done almost 500km with it and you immediately feel the difference compared to aluminium rims. Very direct contact with the road surface. The tyres (GP 5000s 28mm) went on effortlessly. If you are not used to 50mm rims, like me, it takes some getting used to with the wind from the side. They spin smoothly and are nicely balanced. All in all, a very nice rim at a nice price. What also pleases me is that the freewheel hub is not such a noisy thing.

A good wheelset from Bontrager. The price-performance ratio is hard to beat. Delivery to Germany within 2 working days. Absolutely commendable.

The price-performance winner for carbon wheelsets

- Harald, 5 December, 2023

The Bontrager Aeolus Elite 50 TLR Disc arrive well packaged (in contrast to Shimano Ultegras, for example, which were not even wrapped in foil, let alone cardboard), look very high quality with their matt finish and make a good impression overall. If you're worried about system compatibility, the Bontrager stickers are easy to remove (unlike the hub), which makes them much more discreet and a good match for any bike. Rim tape and valve for tubeless and clincher are included. The Aeolus 50 impresses with its high rigidity, not least because lightweight spokes have been omitted. A good wheelset for even better money.

Fine, but ...

- Renaud, 12 October, 2023

Good overall, although a little disappointed by the wheel and hub assembly, which is very basic and far from up to date with ratchet or even 6-pawl engagement.

Good compromise on variable terrain

Wheel profiles used for triathlon on mountain courses. Easy to ride uphill, efficient on the flat. Good wheelsets.
