Rapha Pro Team Thermal Winter Jacket

The Rapha Pro Team Thermal men’s winter jacket is a new addition for 2026, designed for intense training sessions in the cold. The front panels feature a wind-blocking membrane with a C0 DWR coating that keeps the wind out and protects against road spray. The stretch back panel allows air to escape during high-intensity activity and provides the freedom of movement you need in a forward-leaning cycling position.

The two-way zip allows you to open the jacket from the bottom up for ventilation, without having to open it all the way, which you will appreciate on a long climb or if you get just a bit too warm. Three regular back pockets and a small zipped one provide plenty of space for nutrition, your phone and keys. The reflective Pro Team details enhance your visibility on early morning rides or as darkness falls.

Wind-blocking membrane with C0 DWR coating

The front panels feature a membrane that completely blocks the wind. The DWR coating is C0, which means that no PFAS substances have been used in the water-repellent treatment. The coating repels road spray and light rain; in persistent rain, moisture will eventually penetrate as it is not a completely waterproof membrane.

Two-fabric design: wind-blocking front and stretch back panels

The jacket uses two different fabrics: The front panels are wind-blocking for protection, and the back panel is made from a stretch fabric for freedom of movement and heat dissipation. During high-intensity exercise, your back generates a lot of heat; a breathable back panel prevents you from overheating. The combination of protection at the front and breathability at the back is the key feature of this jacket for high-intensity winter training.

Two-way zip

The full-length zip can be opened from top to bottom and from bottom to top. Thus, you can open the bottom section for ventilation while keeping the top section closed – for more comfort when climbing or if you get a bit too warm. The zip locks into place so it doesn’t open by itself while cycling.

Ideal for:

• Temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C – in such conditions, you need a lightweight winter jacket for high-intensity training sessions while maintaining maximum freedom of movement;
• Wind protection at the front and breathability at the back in a single jacket;
• Ample storage space (three plus one back pockets) for your essentials.

Not suitable for:

• Extreme cold (temperatures below -5°C) – this jacket does not have a thick insulating layer, so in temperatures below freezing you will need an extra layer underneath;
• Persistent heavy rain – the DWR coating protects against splashes and light rain but is not completely waterproof; you should wear a rain jacket over it in heavy rainfall;
• Relaxing, low-intensity rides in the cold – the jacket is designed for high-intensity activity; with little movement, your body generates less heat and the jacket will feel too cold.

Measure your chest circumference at the widest point and your waist circumference at the narrowest point. Select your size in the order box based on these measurements. The Pro Team fit is tight and close-to-body; if you want to wear an extra layer underneath, choose the larger size.

How to keep your Pro Team Thermal cycling jacket in good condition:

1. Wash at 30°C: Rapha recommends a maximum washing temperature of 30°C for this jacket.
2. Wash similar colours together: Do not mix with garments with contrasting colours.
3. Do not bleach or dry-clean: Both will damage the membrane and the DWR coating.
4. Tumble dry on the lowest setting: Rapha indicates that you may tumble dry this jacket on the lowest setting. Always use the lowest setting.
5. Do not iron: The fabric and membrane cannot withstand the heat of a clothes iron.

• If the DWR coating loses its water-repellent properties over time, this is due to use and washing. Gently ironing the jacket at a low temperature through a dry cloth can reactivate the coating. Check the care label first; Rapha advises against ironing, so use the lowest setting on the tumble dryer instead of a clothes iron.
• Make clever use of the two-way zip: On a long climb, open it a few centimetres from the bottom to increase ventilation and prevent overheating without having to open the jacket all the way.
• Always close the zipped pocket before getting on your bike – it is only water-resistant when closed.
