Bright colour display
Like its predecessors, this third generation Karoo computer is equipped with a large, bright 3.2-inch smartphone-quality colour screen (480 x 800 pixels). Easily browse through the Karoo's various functions, whatever the conditions, due to its combination of a touchscreen and user-friendly buttons on both sides. The various data overviews are easy to individualise and to customise exactly to your unique needs!
Precise navigation and route functions, wherever you go
The Karoo features accurate navigation and displays street names, points of interest and route data, among other things. The Karoo relies on software from OpenStreetMaps for its navigation. You can download maps for each area or country, so you'll always have the right maps with you. Did you go the wrong way? The Karoo will recalculate your route to get you back on track. The Karoo features turn-by-turn navigation for every route, using both audio prompts and visual indicators to make sure you never miss a turn. Plus, the Karoo easily syncs routes from for example Strava, Komoot, Ride With GPS or the Hammerhead Companion app.
Climbing challenges
The computer automatically recognises climbs and provides you with climb-specific, on-screen information. Climbs are detected when cycling without a route, on regular routes, routes to POIs and on detours. You can adjust the settings to show climb information at all times or only on major climbs.
Hammerhead Companion App
Easily connect your bike computer to the world wide web with the new Hammerhead Companion smartphone app.
Use the Live Tracking feature, send specific destinations, routes and workouts from your phone to your Karoo, or update your friends on your latest adventure!
Connectivity
Pair your Karoo with your favourite Smart lights, radars, power meter, heart rate monitor and even your SRAM AXS components using the Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity. This lets you personalise your SRAM AXS set-up and easily keep track of your battery status, for example. To top it all off, the Hammerhead also pairs with your eBike and gives a complete overview of the different riding modes, range and remaining battery life!

Simple, effective and easy to read
After the Karoo2, I’ve discovered the Karoo3, which is a really well-designed bike. If you also use an SRAM drivetrain, you’ll have a very practical set-up.

A stunning screen and flawless sensor connectivity, but the battery life is a bit tight if you leave the screen
Having tested it over nearly 200 km, this Karoo 3 is simply brilliant! Coming from a Garmin Edge 810, the screen quality is a real visual treat – it’s magnificent. The maps are pre-installed when you buy it, and it locks onto satellites in a flash when you switch it on. Pairing my sensors was very straightforward: the bike computer recognises everything straight away and even displays the battery level of almost all my equipment (tested without any issues with a Garmin heart rate belt, a Varia RTL 515 radar and Favero Assioma Duo power pedals). I’m deducting one star (half a star would have been fairer) solely for the battery life management, which requires a choice: If you want your data displayed on the screen at all times, you have to disable power-saving mode, and the battery inevitably drains faster. On the other hand, if you enable power-saving mode (the screen goes into standby after 20 seconds), the battery lasts a very long time: I only lost 8 per cent on a 2-hour ride. In short, an excellent product that I’d recommend without hesitation! It remains to be seen whether it will prove as robust and durable as my old Garmin, which lasted for many years.

Top-of-the-range appliance
I’ve been using the Hammerhead for just over two weeks now. Clear display, easy to set up. Touchscreen and buttons. So far, the battery life with two sensors is 14 hours.

Good bike computer, top navigation and countless options
The Karoo 3 is an incredibly fine bike computer! The screen responds like you are used to from your phone and is still easy to read even in full sunlight. Navigating on the Karoo 3 is very easy and you can plan stops by simply sharing a location from Google Maps or Apple Maps with the Hammerhead Companion App, where the location immediately appears on the Karoo 3. There, you can set the location as a waypoint for your route. Because the Karoo 3 has a whole extension library, the device is unwise modular and you can really set everything up the way you want it. Di2 cannot be connected by default, but by using an extension you can still set it up. All in all, a very complete bike computer with high-quality navigation!
