Very good for the price

- Andrew 26 May 2020

Was looking for a smart turbo trainer for ages, but hard to find due to the sudden demand from the lockdown. This was only a bit more than wheel on turbos and I've really been loving using it

Pros & Cons

Direct drive
Smart
Can't fold
Only European plug

Good performer so far

- Marius 25 May 2020

Pleased with this smart trainer so far. Opens up a lot of fun and fulfilling training and racing possibilities with Zwift and the included Tacx app.

Pros & Cons

Feels good quality
Moderate price
Sturdy build and design
Quite heavy and cumbersome to move

Good trainer at this price point

- Jason 24 May 2020

For the price this trainer has so far been pretty good. The set up via the Tacx app was straghtforward and calibration was easy. I've been using constantly on Zwift so can't comment on the Tacx training app. You will need to install a cassette which is not really a issue as this trainer does not come with one. Also once set up it does not have folding legs and its heavy which it should be so moving around and storing away when not in use is difficult but if its in a pain cave and won't be moved regularly its fine. I found the flux quiet which is a real bonus for me as its used inside the house and the only real noise is gears changing and chain noise so big thumbs up for that! Ive heard reports of some models having belt issues and having to be returned but fingers crossed its all ok for me at the moment so I'm hoping that's earlier models and Tacx have sorted this for up to date models. Yes there are better options out there with bigger max power and steeper gradients etc but that's going to cost you a few extra hundred quid so you will need to decide if that's really important to you but in all honesty who bangs out over 1500 watts. If using this in the UK you will need a plug adapter as it comes with a European 2 pin and I didn't realise when I ordered mine it came from the Netherlands but all credit to Mantel it arrived in 3 days with detailed tracking and a price which was excellent. The trainer is also stable so when doing hard sprints out of the saddle it doesn't move or rock which gives you confidence to really give it some welly when trying to hit big watts and out of the saddle steep climbs. Talking of watts the flux is very accurate when compared to a quarq power meter with a difference of 1-1.5% in all power ranges so kudos to the flux All in all if you want to spend under £500 for a turbo trainer get good accurate readings and your not going to store it away and having to be constantly moving it I think its a great buy and some £150-£200 less than most models and brands in the mid range of trainers

Pros & Cons

Accurate
Easy Connectivity
Good Price
Quiet
2 Pin Plug
Cassette Needed
Heavy To Move About
No Folding Legs

First turbo

- John 24 May 2020

Was looking for direct drive lower budget to do suitable indoor training with minimal noise and without tyre wear. This ticks all the boxes although I did have to order a separate through axle (as well as the cassette) which it didn't come with as it didn't fit my ribble disc. Happy so far and hopefully will last a long time

Pros & Cons

Easy set up
Quiet
Sturdy
No cassette
No extra through axle adapters for disc
Not easily packable
