Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- Wide range of possible applications due to the all-round tread (sand/gras/snow/mud).
- The standard 100% cotton casing provides excellent puncture resistance, and the new Monoons compound provides an even lower rolling resistance, improved traction and a smoother ride.
- This tyre has a high amount of grip when cornering due to the extremely soft rubber with aggressively placed knobs.
- Not suitable for the muddiest conditions.

The various tyres in the Dugast Typhoon series also come with different casings. The 100% cotton variant is ideal if you're looking for excellent puncture resistance, elasticity, rolling resistance and handling in corners. For athletic cyclists, Dugast now has the Monsoon compound - formerly known as "Storm" - which is the ultimate compound for racing tyres with a wide range of advantages, including a lower rolling resistance, increased traction and a smoother ride.
Plus, the tube is made from cotton, a natural product, and is protected against moisture using a Neoprene treatment. That's why the application of Aquasure is no longer necessary. In short: a handmade, all-round tubular tyre. For muddier conditions, we recommend the Dugast Rhino, or the Dugast Ernst for extreme mud.
• Neoprene protection against moisture
• Latex inner tube

Great intermediate tyre, enough grip on the corners not too much rolling resistance on the road.
I used these tyres in Belgium on a mixed surface cyclocross course. They handled well on the slippy off cambers, but on the road sections they didn’t feel to heavy when compared to a mud tyres such as a Rhino. The only con is the fact that the tubular tyres tend to rot over time as water gets in through the layers of cotton, however this can be solved by using the aquasure product from Dugast. Overall a great tyre.

Reliable all round Tubular
A very good Tubular for most UK cross races, I use these Tubulars the most and only have to switch to all out mud Tubs on some occasions.
