Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • The Schwalbe G-One RS is a fast gravel tyre for asphalt and fine gravel, offering low rolling resistance and good cornering grip.
  • Suitable for all-round use, particularly when combined with a tyre with a higher studded tread, such as the G-One R as a front tyre.
  • The tubeless technology allows for fast and easy converting to tubeless, whereby you pour latex sealant into the tyre to prevent a flat.
  • When used as a set, this tyre's tread is insufficient for very wet autumn conditions - but perfect for use in spring and summer!

Top performance but very fragile

- Oursbrun 13 April 2025

I've been using them for more than 9 months, and I'm still happy with their performance, but I've already had four or five punctures. Fortunately, the preventive fluid was there to help out, so for me, the tyre must be used in tubless conditions, which is a not insignificant drawback.

Fine tyre in use, but not so puncture resistance is disappointing.

- Maarten 7 March 2025

I immediately had these G-one RS fitted to my gravel bike, 40mm. In use, these were very good. But in the first 1000km, both tyres went flat several times. I fitted them tubeless. They went flat on the tread and, despite the holes being very small, they did not adhere sufficiently with Schwalbe's latex. I did get home with them, but they couldn't handle any more pressure. I will now try another set of 35mm. Those seem to me to do even better justice in the Netherlands.

Pros & Cons

Fast on asphalt
Sneak and sufficient traction on forest trails and gravel
Quick punctures

Beautiful and functional gravel tyre

- Wim 20 November 2024

Nice tyre with excellent tread for (far) hard paths. The tread on the sidewalls makes it nicely through corners. Getting it right on the rim was not so easy. By rubbing the rim well with soapsuds, I managed to get it on eventually.

Pros & Cons

Flat tread
Low rolling resistance
Nice to see
Smooth tyre
Sufficient side grip
Difficult to fit on rim

Perfect tyres for commuting on gravel bikes with a lot of tarmac

- Michael 29 October 2024

Previously I had puncture-proof Schwalbe Marathon ALMOTION tyres on the gravel, mainly for commuting, which always felt sluggish. With the G-One RS, things are very different now, even more comfortable without a tube, very agile and fast, I'm thrilled.
