High rigidity due to straight-pull spokes
These Campagnolo Scirocco DB road bike wheels have straight-pull spokes. Straight-pull means the spokes have a straight connection to the hub. This is different from the J-bend spokes you often see on road bikes and also on city bikes; J-bend spokes have a curved connection to the hub.
Thanks to the 33 mm rim height, the straight-pull spokes are shorter compared to a low rim and increase stiffness in the wheel. The straight-pull spokes, unlike the J-bend spokes, are less prone to spoke breakage. The G3 spoke pattern, whereby the spokes are grouped by 3 spokes, provides more stiffness and better power transfer.

Campagnolo has developed a spoke pattern that, compared to a traditionally spoked wheel, improves power transfer and reduces spoke load on the right side. This is achieved by the G3 spoke geometry with double the number of spokes on the right side than on the left side for more lateral stiffness.

2-Way Fit
In addition, thanks to the 2-way Fit rim profile, these wheels can be converted to tubeless. But the 2-Way Fit rim profile is, as the name suggests, a technology for both clincher and tubeless tyres. Tubeless riding has numerous advantages such as reduced rolling resistance, increased riding comfort and improved grip. The main advantage of tubeless riding is that you can continue cycling when you go flat. The liquid latex seals the hole in the tyre within seconds.

Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10 speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.

• When fitting the tyres, pay due attention to the direction of travel.
• With Shimano 9/10 speed, don't forget to fit the spacer first before fitting the cassette.
• Make sure the rim tape lies well in the rim.
• Both the front and rear wheel have a small adjusting screw on the left-hand side to adjust side play.
