Simple, lightweight and doesn’t move.

- Mathieu, 17 July, 2026

Does what it’s supposed to do. Simple and lightweight, holds 2 litres of water and doesn’t shift around. The insulation pouch has already torn after just two uses because it’s too small for a full hydropack. The extra pouch is just big enough for a small smartphone.

Pros & Cons

Doesn’t move
Fits a small mobile phone
Lightweight
Simple
The insulated pouch wears out quickly

Great way to carry extra water on a long ride or race.

- Niels, 5 May, 2026

I bought USWE race 2.0 for use during the Gravel OneFifty because I didn't have any bottle declarers. Given the many missed water bottles from my fellow cyclists, I now think this is a better option than having people declare a water bottle anyway. At least on a flat course like the Gravel OneFifty. The backpack can be well customised to the user. There are plenty of adjustment options. During the race, I barely noticed I had it on. The drinkslag has a handy little magnet that makes it click back on your chest easily and thus does not swing around. I found the drinking flag a bit long. I shortened it slightly. It is also possible to place the magnet somewhere else, but then you will have to help the hose towards the magnet. By shortening it, it automatically falls onto the magnet after drinking. A manual was missing. That, or a link to an instructional video, would have been useful for first-time use.

Pros & Cons

Easy to use and adjust
Two extra litres of water
You hardly notice you have it on
Missing manual
