Instead of using all kinds of degreasers and cleaners, Silca comes up with the innovative StripChip. This agent binds with the factory grease present in and around the chain and converts it into a wax-like substance. Thus, the wax binds well to the internal parts of your chain and you enjoy the fastest and most durable lubricant for your chain!
Recommended use
StripChip comes in the form of a bar, with each piece (six pieces of 12g each) suitable for degreasing one new chain. You simply add one piece to your warm Silca Super Secret Chain Blend Hot Melt Wax, leave your chain in the wax for just 10 minutes and then hang it out to dry thoroughly. This makes the whole process quick, efficient and child's play. Plus, you can simply reuse the used wax to re-wax your chain!

If you are in the hot wax camp anyway, you probably don't mind spending some money on your hobby. Then by all means buy this to go with it, as it saves time and hassle (so those few euros per strip are easily recouped).

Normally when you want to wax a new chain, it involves a lot of environmentally unfriendly chemicals. The strip chip takes this away and is also extremely easy to use: add strip chip to your hot wax and wax new chain as usual. Lovely! Only downside is that it does come pretty pricey.
