The Scope R3.A Gravel wheels are versatile and all-round performers thanks to a wide and lightweight rim. Due to an external rim width of 30mm, this wheelset is particularly suitable for riding with tyres wider than 28mm. This ensures that you can ride much more comfortably on unpaved roads. Thanks to the low weight of 1545 grams, these wheels perform well on hills and mountainous terrain. This makes the Scope R3.A wheels the most versatile wheels in our range.
In addition to the regular Scope Race Series wheels, these gravel wheels also feature the (AEA) Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics technology, which achieves the optimal rim shape. This ensures even more stability at high speeds, a great benefit when using the wheels on asphalt. The Scope R3.A wheelset is equipped with durable SKF bearings with a good seal and low rolling resistance. The Diamond Ratchet body system is a newly developed engagement system which ensures that the delivered power is transferred to the wheel even faster.
3 Year Warranty
Quality is Scope's number one priority. After registering your wheelset on their website within 30 days of purchase, you activate the 3-year warranty. When registering your wheelset it is necessary to mention the serial number. This can be found on the registration card provided, the wheel box or on the flange of the rear hub.
Lifetime Crash Replacement Programme
Despite its high quality, a Scope wheelset cannot always withstand the consequences of a severe crash. This is why Scope offers a crash replacement programme in addition to the 3-year guarantee. With this programme, Scope gives you the chance to replace the wheel after a crash at a reduced rate.

Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics (AEA)
The rim profile of Scope wheels was developed using Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics (AEA) technology. This algorithm calculates the most aerodynamic rim profile to ensure optimum performance. For the previous generation of Scope wheels, countless hours were spent drawing hundreds of different rim profiles, which were then analysed using CFD in an attempt to find the optimal and most aerodynamic rim profile. This method of trial and error approaches the optimum rather than defining it. Together with Delft University of Technology (NL), an algorithm has been developed that defines the coordinates for the most aerodynamic rim profile. This unique innovation in aerodynamics is called Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics.
Hub system
The Scope hub system has been redeveloped. Proven features such as wide flange spacing (for high lateral stiffness), custom-made oversized (6803/6903) SKF bearings and the tool-free adapter system have remained and have only been refined where possible. In addition to the SKF bearings, CeramicSpeed bearings remain available as an upgrade for the Race series.
Diamond Ratchet Body System
The Diamond Ratchet body system is a newly developed engagement system which ensures that the power delivered is transferred to the wheel even faster. The standard 36T ratchet ring can be exchanged for a 48T ring for an even quicker engagement. Compatible with all groupsets: Shimano, Shimano Micro Spline, Sram XDR, Campagnolo and Campagnolo N3W.
Tubeless system
The geometry of the unique Scope Tubeless System allows for easy fitting, instant inflation, long-lasting pressure and compatibility with all (tubeless) tyres.
Local Reinforcement
With the Local Reinforcement carbon technology the number of carbon layers around the spoke holes on the inside of the rim has been increased. In this way the weight is significantly reduced while maintaining strength and rigidity.

• Cassette remover Shimano or Campagnolo

Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.

• Pay attention to the direction of travel when mounting your tyres.
• For Shimano 9/10-speed, do not forget to mount the spacer first before installing the cassette.
• Make sure the rim tape is stuck well in the rim.
• The body for 12 speed Sram XDR has to be bought separately

Very good wheels
- Fabien 12 October 2023
Very attractive price at Mantel. Hassle-free delivery. As for the wheels, I am more than satisfied. They have nothing to envy a brand such as DT Swiss for example. 1530g with valves.
