If you are more used to spd pedals and you have mastered the clipping in and out, this is a good product since you can only unclip in one way and therefore you will have less side clearance and will be tighter in your pedals. I would definitely recommend this product but it is also a matter of personal preference what you like better.

I was not aware of the two versions. This one is tight and snaps off more awkwardly than the previous one I did years with;) for mtb on narrow mountain trails not recommended, as footing is trickier.
