Ideal winter tyre for racing bikes
I was looking for a tyre that would fit on a race bike, but still had the characteristics of a good gravel tyre with low rolling resistance. Gave this Pirelli a chance to train with in winter. The first few corners and metres of biking, I knew immediately that it was a good choice. The tyres immediately gave me confidence in the corners, even when 'leaning' far. Grip in corners and when braking is excellent. You can feel the studs gripping the asphalt. This will certainly help well for the often wet and slippery roads in winter. With these studs, you would think that rolling resistance would be a disappointment. But these tyres roll extremely well and don't give the feeling of struggling to move forward. Of course, it doesn't roll like a GP5000. One downside is because the tyre is TLR, it does fit really tightly around the rim. Difficult to fit and to set them properly in the rim you have to go a bar over the maximum pressure allowed.
