With this, I will make my wheels myself from now on.
Simple but reliable. Works pleasantly. Gives confidence. Used it to self-spoke a wheel for the first time, went perfectly.

Great device that lives up to its higher price
I had my first broken spoke ever and thought: this is a great time to finally learn how to replace a spoke myself. So tensioning spokes turns out not to be difficult at all. You just need to have the right tools, OK, and know which spokes you need. They come cheaper, but this is a really good, accurate one and with the app included, it's easy to correct all the spokes in your wheel to the right tension.

Great tool for measuring spoke tension
In order not to rely solely on hearing or feeling, I purchased this Park Tool TM-1. Of course, it is good to read the manual carefully and realise that besides human error, systematic and random errors also affect the measurement accuracy. Keeping that in mind, I can only say that this device has done a fine job in helping me accurately perform the distribution of spoke tension across the wheel.

does what needs to be done and suspects that this precision will already be much better than by feel or ear

Unreliable
The device does not give reliable values to deliver precision work. The values are not reproducible! The device barely exceeds or not at all if you aim a wheel with the necessary fingerspitzengefühl.Ma.w. it adds nothing! Moreover, the zero setting is not correct so you already start wrong,Moreover, Park-Tool refers to reference values that you have to request from the manufacturer, well they never ever give them,at least not to me.In summary the device is a flop for a lot of money.
