BBB Cycling Missing link pliers Linkfix BTL-77

BBB's missing link pliers are very well and solidly built. Squeezing the missing link parts together to remove the chain does it without any problems. However, joining the two missing link parts fails because the pliers cannot be opened far enough. There is a metal pin hidden in the frame that prevents it from opening far enough. Like other reviewers, I also had to drill, file and even remove the spring to get the pliers working. All in all, this took a fat hour. However, this made the frame considerably less stable and therefore not fully usable. Perhaps a production error, but well, if your chain is already off and this is the only thing you have, you won't go back to the shop any time soon. So I would definitely look further. Too bad, because all the other BBB products I own work perfectly.

The pliers do not open far enough, causing the link not to engage. Solved by removing the central nut so that the jaws open further. But of course that can't be the intention

De tang ligt fijn in de hand maar gaat niet ver genoeg open om de Shimano 11 speed te sluiten. Erg nutteloos op deze manier.

Removing the link was fine, when assembling the link the pliers broke. Little dual function to these pliers so.

What a travesty: The pliers lie wonderfully in the hand, but what are you going to do with them? At least not close a missinglink, because the tips don't go between them. I filed off one side....

Bought to seal new KMC e101 EPT chain with missing link link. Unfortunately this does not work for this chain (1-speed). Maybe for other chains it will? Didn't try opening it (yet). So it was of no use to me.

Opening the quicklink went fine, but clicking it together could not because the pliers do not move far enough with it. So the link can no longer be closed and when trying, the pliers also broke.... Really not recommended...

Bought thinking it would be easy to open the missing link. The missing link was quickly found, just as quickly the tip broke off the pliers.
