The GripGrab RIDE 2 Waterproof Road overshoes are designed for cyclists who want simple, reliable rain protection for their commute and training in conditions with plenty of road spray. While the waterproof construction protects your racing shoes from rain and spray, the stretch fabric fits snugly over them for a secure, road-cycling-specific fit. With Velcro fastenings at the back, the shoe covers are easy to put on and take off, even with cold hands.
The race-specific cut eliminates excess material, ensuring the overshoes stay snug without flapping about. Underneath the soles are hard-wearing treads that protect high-stress areas when you are walking or coming into repeated contact with the ground. Reflective details make you more visible in low light.
This way, the GripGrab RIDE 2 Waterproof Road overshoes keep your feet dry and protected on wet road rides without any unnecessary fuss. Please note: As with all overshoes, during prolonged or heavy rainfall, some water may still seep in through unavoidable gaps, such as around the cleats/soles or at the upper cuffs.
Waterproof construction with a race-specific stretch fit
The overshoe is made from a waterproof material that keeps rain and road spray away from your shoe. Thanks to the stretch fabric, you can pull it snugly over your racing shoe, without any loose fabric flapping about. The overshoe stays securely in place and provides optimal water protection. Please note that no overshoe is completely waterproof – in heavy rain, water may still seep in around the cleat or the top edge.
Velcro fastening at the back
The Velcro fastening at the back allows you to open and close the overshoe easily, which you will appreciate particularly when putting it on or removing it with cold or wet hands. Plus, the Velcro fastening keeps the cuff snugly around your ankle.
Wear-resistant treads
Under the sole, there are reinforced, wear-resistant treads in the areas most prone to wear and tear. The treads protect the overshoe when you are walking, stopping for a coffee or repeatedly tapping your foot on the ground. They make the overshoe last longer.
- Road cycling shoes with smooth racing soles and 3-hole cleats (Look, Shimano SPD-SL, Speedplay);
- Rides on wet roads, commuting and training in conditions with a lot of spray;
- Riders who want a snug, road-specific tight fit without excess material.
- MTB and gravel shoes with chunky knobbly soles – these do not fit well within the race-specific cut;
- Extreme winter cold – the focus is on rain protection; these are not lined thermal overshoes;
- Guaranteeing completely dry feet after hours of heavy rain – no overshoe can do that.
- Pull the leg ends of your bib tight over the shoe covers so that rain runs down the outside rather than into the overshoes.
- If you want to wash the overshoes, do so by hand and leave to air-dry; do not wring out, tumble-dry or iron.
- Refresh the water-repellent properties over time using a waterproofing treatment for sportswear.
- Walk on hard surfaces as little as possible to protect the sole and the cleat area, the most vulnerable part of any overshoe.
