GOREWEAR GORE-TEX Helmet Cover

With the GOREWEAR GORE-TEX Helmet Cover, your head stays dry on even the wettest rides. You can slip the black cover over your helmet in a matter of seconds, and the elasticated hem keeps it securely in place. Ideal for your daily commute, a wet training ride or a cold winter’s morning.

A standard helmet is full of ventilation holes. That’s lovely in summer, but in rain and wind, water runs straight into your hair and the cold wind blows over your head. This cover seals those openings. Thanks to the GORE-TEX ePE membrane, it keeps rain and wind out, whilst still allowing moisture to escape from your head.

The cover weighs just 29 grams. If you see dark clouds gathering whilst out and about, simply pull it out of your back pocket. The reflective logo ensures you’re more visible at dusk or in the rain. The main fabric is made from 78% recycled polyester and 22% recycled nylon.

GORE-TEX ePE membrane

The fabric incorporates a new generation of GORE-TEX membrane, which is thinner and lighter than the previous one. The membrane is full of tiny pores: much smaller than a raindrop, but larger than water vapour. This means rain cannot get through, whilst sweat can escape. So your head stays dry both on the outside and the inside.

Elasticated hem

The edge of the cover is elasticated. This means it fits snugly around the bottom of your helmet and stays in place, even in strong winds or at high speeds.

Fits

• Size M: helmets for a head circumference of 54 to 58 cm.
• Size L: helmets for a head circumference of 60 to 64 cm.
• Road bike and cycling helmets with ventilation openings that you’ll want to cover in rain and wind.

Does not fit

• Helmets outside the selected size range: the elasticated hem will not fit properly, or the cover will be too tight.
• Warm, dry rides: the cover blocks your ventilation, so you’ll quickly get too hot.

Not sure? Here’s how to check

• Check the label or sticker on the inside of your helmet. It will show the head circumference in centimetres. If it’s between 54 and 58 cm, choose M. If it’s between 60 and 64 cm, choose L.
• If you have a light on the back of your helmet, the cover may block it. In that case, make sure you have a rear light on your bike or seat post.

Included as standard

• 1 x GOREWEAR GORE-TEX Helmet Cover, black

Not included, but useful

• A cycling helmet: the cover is merely a sleeve, not protection in its own right.
• A waterproof cycling jacket, so you stay dry as well.

• Always carry the cover in your back pocket or saddle bag if rain is forecast. Weighing just 29 grams, you won’t even notice it’s there.
• After a wet ride, let the cover dry thoroughly before folding it up and putting it away.
• The cover is also great on cold, dry days: it blocks the wind that would otherwise blow through your ventilation openings.
